Who said Patek finishing isn't what it used to be? New 5296!

Just in, brand new ref. 5296 in white gold. Very impressed from what I can tell of the finishing quality (the case and dial, as well as the movement):

Very nice! Have always found the 5296 to be a very pure design true to the original Calatrava Bauhaus philosophy. Wear it in good health.

Very nice! Refreshing to see fans of Calatravas still exist in a Nautilus era.

Great photos of a beautiful watch. Patek is not getting lazy with movement finishing at all.

Congrats! The Calatravas are so beautiful in their simplicity. I have my eye on the 5196g- I just need to stop buying so many Rolex watches!

This is great to see.
I truly believe that Calatravas are so under-rated!
It was the 5120G-001 that made me fall in love with Patek ; it is not watch that most rave about and it has depreciated no doubt at a pace equivalent only to the appreciation of my Aquanaut.
Now this 5296 is of course another level up from my paltry 5120G, but as the OP says, these watches show off the finishing quality of Patek arguably in a way that the sports watches can. When I go to a black-tie event I always put on my Calatrava and my, does it feel good!
