So it was a normal ‘dragged to town shopping with SWMBO Saturday’ and while she was doing her thing I sloped off to have a nose in the AD windows. Nothing out of the ordinary on display, just the usual suspects of PM models and two tones, no SS to been seen at all, standard UK fodder at the moment
 I had noticed that Issue 8 of the Rolex magazine is starting to surface so I decided to go in and ask if they’d got any copies and just to be cheeky ask if there were any SS models on the premises, Sports or otherwise...  To my surprise I was met with ‘We might have, what are you looking for?’ To which I replied either the new Pepsi GMT or Rhodium Dial DJ41! As I expected the sales rep laughed about the GMT but proceeded to go out back and bring out a just delivered DJ41 still in coffin...and the rest is history  Love this dial and the fluted bezel with the jubilee IS the classic Rolex image for a Datejust  Just to add to the whole debate about ADs removing stickers, with-holding warranty cards, keeping hangtags and not allowing the coffins to be supplied with the watch I didn’t experience any of this, in fact I was told by the rep to make sure I keep all the bits together and not throw any of it away!

I don't think the ADs really worry too much about the DJs being flipped. If you left with the Pepsi, I have a feeling they may have treated a little different. |
