I can't speak for others, but I really like the "old man" combo of champagne stick dial on two-tone, fluted bezel, with Jubilee. It looks like something my grandfather would have worn had he been inclined to spend that kind of money on watches (which he wasn't), but that's what I like about it. To me, it looks like the archetypal Rolex, perhaps more than any other model, including the Sub.

I agree with this - This is probably one of only a couple of models I would / could go 2 tone. It totally has a old school rolex sort of thing going on with it.

I have to agree the blue dial is the hot one but l like mine. I wouldnt mind having two of these adding a silver dial version.

Not hard to read normally, a little in low light conditions, ill sometimes turn it to catch a reflection. I knew l was giving up a little for this choice as well as limited lume. A little outside the box but No regrets. Awesome detailed dial in person.

There are generally two camps to this question:
Either
1) blue dial: fluted or smooth does not matter, SS or WG TT combination
Or
2) your grandfather's watch: champagne dial(most classic) or other plain dial, such as white or black, on a fluted bezel, TT YG combination

I had the DJ2 Wimbledon dial and I found it hard to read.
I now have a DJ2, blue, indexes, fluted bezel, oyster bracelet. Jubilee was not offered then.

There have been quite a few posts recently about this, including ADs telling customers that they will have to wait for a blue dial, almost unheard of with DJ41s, but it shows how popular it is.

It's the closest thing to SS Sports watch without being a sports watch if you get my drift.

My Blue DJ41 currently gets more wrist time than my 116500LN, plus its easier to read.
