I like them a lot, but it is hard to find one in very good unpolished condition, if you find one at all.

It’s hard to say why the King Midas is so appealing. I figure it works for me because if a design is going to be bold it should do so unapologetically and with a touch of panache.

The King Midas is a very unapologetic watch.

I’m not a fan of Genta designs but I would have snatched up John Wayne’s King Midas if I knew about it in 2011.

It does remind me of the Pharaohs, Hittites and others of antiquity, altho strangely not the Greeks, Agamemnon wouldn't be caught dead with this watch lol, so it serves it's purpose, but not my style.

I love my King Midas.... It houses a JLC ultra thin movement; was the first solid gold Rolex (made to compete with the solid gold Piaget Polo) and was the first Rolex with a saphire crystal. If you can find one with the Greek urn box... Buy it!
