Omega Seamaster 300 Trilogy, awesome piece but what happed to the price?
I am considering picking up an Omega Seamaster 300 Trilogy 39mm limited production. It is a handsome looking watch with modern movements and classic design case and dial. Not so long ago, it was a hit but with a few months it tank while other brands stainless steel holding their prices. What went wrong? Is Omega not as high demand compare to Rolex? I recently sold my SMP300 and miss it dearly and consider getting this or SubC.

I think 3557pcs for a limited edition is quite a lot of units. Supply is currently more than the demand. It will take a few months/years before NIB ones dry up. Once it gets difficult to find one, sometimes it becomes more desirable? This happened to the Speedmaster Tintin.
Generally at the moment I think Rolex does have a greater demand compared to Omega. Especially because their "hard to get" and "you could sell for more" game on Rolex SS pieces are still on full-force, especially on my side of Asia. |

The speculators who bought it up thinking it would be a great flip are getting out now that they see that there isn't going to be any quick profit. I got a great deal on the Speedmaster still NIB.

Speed master seem to hold value better vs Railmaster and Seamaster. Any discount on speed master is a good deal.

It tells us indeed there are just few collectors wanting all variants of the Trilogy and who didn’t like the Trilogy number embedded in the dial. Yes, 3557 pieces for a Seamaster or a Railmaster is a huge number especially that these models are not probably known for LE unlike the Speedmaster.
I wouldn’t worry about the price. Buy what you like and not what other people think or what you think you’ll make out of the deal. We are watch fanatics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I really like the Seamaster especially the case size but the countdown bi-directional bezel annoys me. Am I the only one that thinks they should have done it in the usual diver elapsed time, unidirectional style to make it more functional?

On the contrary, the CD bezel in aluminum mirror like finish in a more reasonable size attracted me to this variant. I think it is indeed a well executed reissue by Omega. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think the issue is that they were priced considerably higher than the normal counterparts. Non wis won’t buy them, and 3500of each is a lot. I will add that having owned the railmaster and speedmaster, that they are great watches. Both have gone however. I love the dimensions but the vintage lume for me does not quite go with watches that have so many polished surfaces.

I bought one, I think it’s a great watch. Depends if you want to buy the watch because you like it or for an investment. What will happen in the future who knows. If you like it, buy it, wear it.

Price, availability and wear all impact the sales and value. At some point in the future it will be worth more. When? Who knows.

I just sold one of my two Speedmaster 60th Anniversary for the list price I paid almonst a year ago. I thought that the Sea- and Railmaster would hold their value better because of the modern caliber inside, but seems that other aspects are more important

despite the downtick in prices, I still think this set is something to own. The watches are amazing re-creations of vintage pieces, wear great, and contain some of the best horology out there.

I picked up the Speedmaster and Seamaster in new condition on the secondary market at a good discount and I'm really happy about both purchases.

Speedmaster has a good value, I wouldn't think of selling mine anytime soon.
Definitely a good buy. |

More sellers than buyers so prices went down.
