Frequency of buying

Just wondering how often everyone purchases a new watch?

Do you at times trade something? if so, why?

Thank you for your input!

The last two years, one in 2007, three in 2008, planning for one in 2009 maybe two if everything goes as plan and my financial situation allows it.

As often as the finances allow; it could be one every 2-3 years, or it might even be a few per year. This would be a good year to buy - prices have really collapsed.

I bought 2 Rolex and 2 non Rolex watches last year. Probably will get a couple more Rolexes this year. I usually don't trade-in because I'd rather keep a watch rather than get the little money I'd receive in a trade.

Bought 9 in 15 years. Sold 2 of the 9, so I have 7. Works out to an average of about 1 every 2 years, or so.

I try to buy one every year but the thing is that once you find that watch you really love, the nostalgia lasts a couple years. I remember my first Rolex and it made me want to buy more. Once I was in the club(forum member) and seeing everyone's different models it made me want to buy more.

If you could only have one Rolex you buy that particular model and the nostalgia would last you years before the next purchase. My father and his friend are into watches too, so I get to frequently wear and try on Pateks, Langes, Blancpains and many other brands. His friend would purchase a watch every month. I told him to wait till the newness wears off till he gets another one but sometimes the bug hits you hard.....

I thought one Rolex would last a lifetime but when you love watches; there is never enough!...lol

My first one was gifted to me but I plan on buying one sometime this year. I'd love to wear the DRSD everyday but I'd like to have something to rotate it out with so I can keep it in good condition. I guess Im looking for a "daily beater". Will prob be a "pepsi" because I have always liked those a lot! Problem is I would like something "new"

Your DRSD is an excellent daily wearer. I wouldn't buy anything newer. Look at it this way with the amount of Rolex spot on people, it would make yours that much special.

Not to hijack but it's ok to do that with it. Just has me a little nervous because it's "vintage" and from what I've been reading rare and worth a lot. I'd hate to mess it up. I mean I plan on wearing it and giving it plenty of wrist time.

Either way I have found a new hobby so even if I never take off the DR I'll still get a couple more :)
