Incoming and state of my humble collection

Found a Sea Dweller 43 50th Anniversary at a local AD just sitting in the case while out of town visiting family for Thanksgiving. Had it shipped to me to save tax and just received today. This was the watch I really wanted when I decided to get a Rolex but due to scarcity and grey market $ I had only seen 1 in the flesh and just could not pull the rigger @ ~$14k. I have a large wrist @ 7.75" and 40mm watches just seem too small. I had bought a pre-owned 216570 a couple months ago as I thought it would be some time before I could obtain the SD 43. The AD also had a Sub Date in stock and I was able to compare. After seeing them side by side and on wrist, it was a no-brainer, even for the extra $. Watch a beautiful watch...Very Happy!!!

I am pretty sure I have the watch bug really bad as I spent quite a bit of time, after the purchase until the receipt of the SD 43 today, thinking about what watch to get next. I have attached a pic of my small collection. As you can see I am currently all in on black dial watches which does not add much variety at all. My wife already gives me grief about the black dials. I have a bunch of ideas so maybe I'll float my ideas and ask for assistance from the TRF team on a different thread.

Thanks for viewing and thanks to TRF for a great forum to fuel my new habit.

Danny

Yeah, I work from home when I'm not traveling and my office window looks out onto the street. Met the post lady at the door....ear to ear.

An SD43 just sitting in the case - you should buy a lottery ticket with that luck!

Gear find and great collection!

Congrats, what a score!

Love the collection...the Exp2, SD, and smp all work so well together.

Why don't you take a look at Tudor for your next. The BB line is a very substantial watch, really compares more to the SD than say, a sub. Also there's the Pelagos at 42mm and the bronze at 43. Or you could go BBGMT and keep your black dial theme while bringing in a little color. Lots of choices.

Congratulations. Very nice collection. I would look at the Black Bay Bronze next. It is 43 mm and wears great. Depending on the weather and how my wrist swells I am 7.5-7.75 wrist size and it does well.
