anyone from UK or purchase a Rolex from UK
can someone from the uk help me and advise
1 - where can i polish my blue suby in london and how long time will it take ? 2 - do someone know AD or a grey dealer in wallingford our around it that can give a good discount ? 3 - what is the amount i will get as a refund from the VAT on an amount of 3000-5000 sterling pound because i think they do not refund the whole amount & the more you pay the more you get as a refund ? Thank you all |

1 - I think any AD could polish your bluesy for you, probably same day service.
2 - No idea. UK AD's are Earnest Jones and Goldsmiths....most likely won't give a discount, but you can ask....perhaps 10-15% (depending on the model). 3 - I am purchased my SD last April for £3,400 and got about 12.5% back when I left the country....VAT has been lowered recently from 17.5% to 15.0%, so your refund at the airport will vary. BE SURE to have the AD fill out a VAT form when you make your purchase and be sure you're wearing the watch when you leave, else you may not receive the refund. Hope that's helpful. Brett |

1-The vast majority of AD's will not touch your watch for a polish i'm afraid. They just don't have the staff nor the skill required to properly do such.
2-Wallingford ??? Never heard of it before, sorry. The general rule in the UK is discounts are not to be expected particularly on SS sports. You can but try though. 3- Contact Mappin & Webb at Heathrow and enquire about a tax free purchase as you leave. This will grant you full VAT exemption. They may also order in the ideal watch for you quite possibly.

1 - I had my EXII polished in the Rolex HQ workshop, personally I am not impressed by the work and they actually 'over-polished' the lug of the case that I have to replace the whole new case that I have lost the original reference numbered case... just be careful - it took 4 weeks to finish
2 - I just bought an Lady Osyter with 15% off, Watch of Swiss dont give discount, try some small local dealer by the end of the month and see if they can give you something good. 3 - Some store do have admin charge, you need to check clearly before buying it. If they dont, you can redeem the full 15% VAT |
