Further cuts to Steel allocations?

Dropped by my AD today and was advised that there will be further cuts to Steel allocation by Rolex.
Anyone else been notified of this ?

Yes, but I do have purchase history with this particular AD. 2 watches purchased in less than 6 months.

If you walk in with a steel rolex now, they will take it from you?

Yes! New policy is if you come in the store with a popular model on, they will confiscate it and sell it to someone else! “Have a nice day” is what they will say as you are leaving too!

I was busy buying and selling to dial in my collection last year. The hottest piece l purchased from my AD was a Blnr. The hottest piece l passed on was a black SS Daytona. I'm content with nothing on my radar now so I'm just sitting back. I do feel bad for some playing the waiting game as it sounds like 2019 will be even more challenging to get any SS sports at MSRP.

Maybe they will cease production on all SS pieces and give you the option of gold or platinum.

No, I haven't been notified. Which is unusual, b/c I am usually in the loop on corporate Rolex policy.

I must have sent somebody the wrong gift this year.

PM = Rolex
SS = Tudor

I think that this will be the strategy, since the active renaissance of Tudor by the company

This is a good thought. For black bay to replace submariners though it will take a lot of marketing spend over the next couple of years. I don’t think I can stand that much David Beckham.

2.5 seems low. Person must be a high roller.

2.5 years is not unreasonable at all.

On the other hand, none of the 4 ADs I talked to experienced any SS Sports model allocation cut these years.

If I was wanting a Daytona I would jump at 2.5 years given some of the stories I’ve read

I think that your AD may be on the list for No allocation...

If your Ad is not lying, that will be bad news for Rolex fans but good news for scalpers and greys.
