Will Using Rolex during Exercising in GYM Stretch the Bracelet?

Been hearing bad stories about Rolex bracelet stretched due to using it while exercising in GYM....

Is this true? Even the sales person in my trusted grey dealer warned me....don't use your "hard earned" Hulk when you exercise in GYM....

Do you agree with this? I will be quite uncomfortable leaving my Hulk in the changing room's drawer while I'm exercising....

Thanks for your replies guys....

Why take it to the gym in the first place? You are at the gym to train, Leave it at home.

Have to agree its dirt and not keeping bracelet clean that causes wear to the bracelet and not normal wearing.

It can handle it. I just wouldn't want to wear it in the gym.
DO NOT leave it in the locker room. There are plenty of stories around here to prove that's a very bad idea.

Best to leave your 116610LV in your locker while training.

Absolutely not; I've been robbed of money in my locked locker. The safest place is on your wrist, or at home.

I always wear my Rolex at the gym. It's my watch. The only time I have to be careful is when I do a certain stretch, making sure not to scratch the clasp when my arm is against the wall.

Agree...and even the most exclusive club will not be held responsible if anything happen in the changing room....

Not going to it hurt it anymore that wearing it anywhere. I wear my watches while at the gym. It's either that or not wear a watch that day!!!

Let's see:
Swim the English Channel, check.
Climb Mount Everest, check.
Go into outer space, check.
Drive the Daytona 500, check.
Work out for an hour at a gym, FAIL.

I don't think so!!! Where was your AD, BTW? I take it Jarkarta?

I wear mine to the gym. I'm not too concerned about the sweat or dirt that might otherwise mess with the bracelet though, my workout includes swimming laps for about 30 - 45 mins. Squeaky clean, literally.

Don't worry, your bracelet can handle this easily. A watch needs to be on the wrist

Hey Brew

Which watch do you usually swim laps with? Just curious

Hi Jesus! I typically have an OP39 with me, but the DJ and the YM both swim too.

Will Using Rolex during Exercising in GYM Stretch the Bracelet?

The risk of damage to the bracelet is very slim except for scratches and dings from hitting equipment.

If you don’t keep the bracelet clean, the extra motion does add wear to the link pins, but so slightly not worth mentioning.

The thing you’d risk the most is a hard bash on the head - not your’s but the watch’s. And then you’d be like...

I lock mine in the glove compartment as I head to the gym straight from work. Whatever you do, don’t put it in the locker. They can’t put cameras in the locker room and thieves know this and specifically target health clubs.

Leave it at home and most people in my gym have their phones in their hand texting or what ever so there is you time if you need to know or simply wear a G Shock .
All it takes is one hard knock on the free hand weights .....

Personally I cant stand having anything on my wrists while I work out.

As for the watch, it can take whatever you throw at it but as mentioned above if you're clumsy Rolex vs knocking against weights is not a good combo.

Having been a personal trainer and still at the gym almost daily, I would tell you it depends on how you train and what you're doing.

If you stick to machines and stretching with little impact work, or stay with a LISS (low intensity steady state) cardio routine, I would think you're fine to wear it as long as you have good wrist awareness.

If you are the group that does HIIT (high intensity interval training), has a lot of kettlebell flow/work, or does a lot of free weight movements; I would probably recommend leaving it at home. I don't find a watch comfortable in these workouts and I have knocked my wrist (and hands) more times than I can count on a kettlebell or rack.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Personally I would leave it at home, I think I would be paranoid about damaging it the whole time.

I wear my watches at gym , steam room on treadmill. I took my new datejust to the gym yesterday I did 2 exercises that could have scratched bracelet so I just sat down took it off real quick and folded in my gym towel. Can’t leave it in car and now days it’s so easy for people to get into your locker why risk the chance

How about getting yourself a round nylon watch case i.e.Casebudi and a belt with a small storage pouch? Place the watch in the small round case and into the pouch strapped around your waist. No damage to watch, no worries of having it stolen as it is with you at all times, no need to leave it in vehicle or gym locker. Problem solved.

I exercise in the comfort of my own home in the Dungeon of Ripped Muscle (my basement). But if I were to exercise at a gym, this is honestly the best idea!

No...… You cannot "stretch" your stainless steel watch, you are not strong enough.
