My DATEJUST looks dated!

Have a DJ from 1988 and as much as I like it; I have to admit it does look dated. Unlike my sport models, which at that age, look vintage, well...the TT Blue face TOG just looks kind of like me...OLD.

Got in touch with my friend Steve Mulholland and he found me a 93153 bracelet and correct 493 endlinks. Tell me what you think and no, you cannot hurt my feelings.

Before...also an old picture.

After....

Is a datejust with rotating bezel common?

I find the bezel treatment most hip. Rolex part?

I always liked the TOG(Thunder-Bird) on the oyster bracelet better. Very Nice.

I think it looked good before, better now but BEST if it was on MY wrist.

Hmm... are you too sober to throw that in a box and ship it my way?

Special delivery coming your way. Just have the garage door open. The kids are at tennis right now and I am in a good mood taking a few moments of down time before all hell breaks lose at 7:00pm. Seems that is the time that will someday put me in the nut house.

I do think it looks a bit dated, but I would think that you might be able to swap that bezel for a fluted or smooth and keep the old one for not a large investment. That's the beauty of these timepieces.

Also swapping the dial with a white one with the gold romans would be a good look.

A few hundred dollars and you could have a "new" watch.

I have never been a fan of the TOG
Still am not
BUT I think it looks MUCH better on the Oyster!

Steve is the man!
He had found me some great parts at great prices.

like has been said previously - i think it's the bezel, and not the bracelet, that makes it look dated.

Man, if I could find a way to get your 5508 without the wife knowing, but as you know she handles all the funds. Like I would trust myself with our checkbook.

The TOG/Thunderbird I feel is going to be one of the hot watches not too far down the road...be happy you own it...the TOG/Thunderbird is the only DJ that has it "going on" as far as investment.

I like it. I like oyster bands.... ...just me. One of the guys at the Dove drawings had the same setup but a black dial. It really stood out. He said he had got it used about 20 years ago. It's Sharp Joe Old can Be Good!!

The Oyster looks good on your TOG, but I have to admit that I prefer the Jubilee..

Just my opinion of course..

Like both Joe, but the oyster does work well with the bezel. Nice looking TOG either way.

And besides, OverTheHill1957, insofar as the DJ looking "dated," well it should so it better matches its owner!

I smile every morning, but my wife runs for cover. Since we have hot water radiators, it's a great way to heat our bedroom before the radiators warm up!
