Gold 7206 - Production Run & Usability?
Been looking at PM GMTs recently, and have noticed that some 16718s come on riveted 7206 bracelets.
When was production of these halted? I imagine with the invent of screw link bracelets, these just became obsolete. I would have thought they ended much earlier, but have seen them on several GMTs from the early 90s. Also, I imagine that unless the bracelet comes in just the right size (with clasp adjustment), it may look odd to remove a link (assuming I could find someone skilled to to so) as they all seem to be different sized links. I see a few with 12 links, but not sure how they compare to a more modern 93150 or 93160. I'm currently wearing a 16600 SD with 6 links on 12 o'clock side, 5 on 6 o'clock side with clasp set 2nd from largest setting and that's perfect for me with the clasp centered. I'm not counting the divers link. Can someone set me straight? Current setup: |

Doesn't belong on a 16718. 7206 Gold is very rare. We've never had one here.

Odd, I've seen 3 or 4 with that bracelet. Anyone know when production halted? One I'm looking at is pristine.

I think they were available as an option for the President, Sub and GMT into the mid to late 80's. I don't think they were marked 7206 in the 80's based on the ones I have seen. |
