Rolex date wheel alignment

Just noticed my four months old YM has miss alignment date wheel a hair to the top, I’ve checked my suv date and GMT are perfectly in the center of window, is this a fairly common issue with Rolex or am I just being too picky? My AD asks me to bring it so they can have a look, anyone had same experience and would they be able to fix this? Thanks in advance!

I say that’s normal based on my experience and within Rolex tolerances. If you were to see any of the next number, THAT would be different.

Tolerable but it would bug me knowing it is not perfectly centered

Rolex date wheel alignment

Tolerance?!

All of Rolexes guff, sorry; marketing, claims perfection.

Take it to the RSC and get them to fix it. They tell you perfection on their website, that’s what you expect.

... and they will also claim they have to service it at the same time.

I would be lying if I told you that I knew the positioning of any of my date wheels. Looks ok to me tbh.
But if it bothers you, ask if they adjust it, but I think it's better just to leave it as is and not take it apart.

Looks a bit off center. Though maybe within tolerance I definitely would let it get fixed.

Click it around a few cycles. It might fix itself.

If anything it could be the dial slightly off but not worth worrying about, when they attach the dial by the dial feet to the top movement plate. Before its tightened down there is a very very tiny bit of lateral movement both ways. The date wheel itself cannot be independently adjusted up and down.

This makes the most sense.

OP: I’d leave well enough alone until the next service interval - make note of it if they return the watch in a similar state.

Thought maybe excess oil being new. It isn't something that would bother me anyway. It's central enough. Not worth being without the watch Imo or putting it under the knife at all for that matter.

True.. Maybe the OP can just run through the dates a few times and see if it self aligns.

My new 116610LN is the exact same, date is high but only on the early days between say 2 and 15.. I saw the problem at beginning of January, called the AD but didn't make it into the shop for another week by that time the date window was fine and I looked a bit silly at the AD as they could not replicate the fault (we we setting the date at higher numbers and it was ok)..but roll on February and March, its high for the first fortnight of the month. I'll get it sorted sometime.

Just send it in. Don’t worry about it, or doubt yourself. They will be able to fix it, and you will be able to look at your watch in peace!

You guys and your watches worrying over nothing, the date and watch is fine but looks like it could do with a good clean that would be more important.

I wouldn’t fix it.... to be honest it doesn’t look bad and why give anyone a reason to open up your case and heaven forbid scratch the lugs or case back in the process

Nah thats too much imho. I would get that fixed.

Once you see it now every single time you look at your watch your gonna look at the alignment issue.

If it was only very slightly misaligned I would leave it but that is noticeable.

Looks too high to me. If it bothers you now, it will likely bother you in the future. I’d get it fixed.

Wouldn't bother me near as much as that big bulging magnifying lens they glue to the crystal.
