A few random photos from the road...

I drove down to the Miura Peninsula south of Tokyo yesterday to pick something up at a store. I was alone, so I took a few photos through my clearly dirty windshield; definitely not the typical tourist photos; and not necessarily set out in the order taken; but in case you might wonder what it's like to put on your Rolex watch and go for a drive on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Japan in a car worth less than your watch, here are a few random shots I took of what I saw (including my watch) while driving.

I took the camera in order to make watch photos, but that's not so easy or safe to do when driving, as I was reminded as I settled into expressway traffic in my Honda Comfortable Runabout Vehicle (CRV); so I just pointed and shot whenever the opportunity presented itself. Most of the photos were out of focus or of things such as the door handle. Here are the few that I kept.

By the way, the Miura Peninsula is the setting for the novel "Shogun," though you'd certainly never guess that from my photos.

Did I mention that I love Japan? Well, I do.

Thanks for the memories, Otto. I recall driving on roads and through towns like that the many times I was there on business.

Oh, and did I mention, I love Japanese food (although I can only do one piece of uni at a sitting ).

Nice shots. You're a brave man to try and navigate those roads. Nightmarish situation!

You get such respect for the Japanese taxi drivers

I love that Daytona, and it looks to be in as new condition.

It hasn't aged a day since I saw it last year in Tokyo.

I love these pictures. It's always interesting seeing pictures from other countries, their cars, houses, signs. I'd like to visit Japan some day...
