Stole a bluesy from underneath someone who had it on hold at the Bellagio in Vegas

I was on vacation with my family for spring break and I happen to walk into the AD at the Bellagio and saw a bluesy just sitting there calling my name. I tried it on and fell in love with it but didn’t pull the trigger. After sleeping on it, I went back the next day to try it on again and they told me a gentleman had it on hold and wouldn’t let me try it on unless I was willing to pull the trigger on it right there and then, and would honor my dibs. So I snagged it! You snooze you lose buddy. Apologies to the gentleman if you are reading this.

Salesman probably just wanted you to pull your wallet out. Were his lips moving when he said that?

So it was YOU! Away with my watch!

Only kidding.. nice find. I don't believe the AD's story and on the flipside I would be pissed if they sold a watch they had on hold for me..

Salesman was probably bs'ng. But if he wasn't, pretty sorry of you to knowingly take someone's watch. Someone who likely had been waiting a bit. This, what with all the complaining folks do around here about wait times, limited ad stock, etc.

I would not blame the OP for this. Salesman sold him the watch, blame the store policy.

Although I think the salesman sold you a crock of.........

Agree with the BS from the salesman, but I disagree with the rest. Why should I have to wait around because somebody else wants to wait around? If the salesman wasn't BSing, I'm guessing hew told the first guy that he would tentatively hold it, but would sell it if somebody really wanted to buy it.

This.

Plus just because we have the internet and all have a common interest, he owes no allegiance or loyalty or deference to some nameless person out there just because they share an interest in a watch brand/style.

Wear it, enjoy it and don't give it a second thought!

I agree with what others have said and it was the first thing that came to my mind after reading the original post. Watch wasn’t on hold. Sales tactic to create urgency to generate a response from an interested potential buyer. Sales 101 folks. Regardless, watch is amazing. Enjoy.

I posted on this forum that this Bluesy was available, but no one responded so I guess it went to you. Haha.
BTW, they weren’t holding it for me.

I think something along the lines of "got lucky in Vegas" would be better than "stole a watch from underneath someone". If that approach empowers you, have at it. Personally there's a rub there that doesn't sit well with some.

Well said.....I think its more the triumphant attitude thats rubs...he seems very please to have stolen it from under somebody.....even if that somebody didnt really exist.....lets face it if it was such a hot watch with people fighting over it it would have disappeared within minutes

Well, considering the popularity (and beauty) of that model TT Sub, you are lucky that it was still there the next day.
But yeah - - - Total BS from the sales guy. Who cares, though; that's an iconic, desirable reference.

Great watch - congratulations

Your even lucky that was there the next day. In Vegas these go out the door faster than a pizza delivery boy.

I feel like it would be more fun to say “damn I was really gonna buy it, wouldn’t want to take it away from another buyer though” and walk away. Stick it to him
