Generally 4.4M although there have been some 4.3M reported. Then later 4.7M as well.

If my case is 440x case, does this mean it must be a replacement case? It has a guarantee paper.
how can we know it must be a replacement case? |

Yes, that’s a replacement case. Are you referring original Rolex guarantee paper? What year is on it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

99% sure it is a replaced case. There’s no rush to learn that factoid if you like the watch and are keeping it. But you can learn it’s pedigree with certainty when it’s ready for a service. Just use the RSC and ask if that is the original case or a replacement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

1976 seems to be a pretty rare date for Rolex pieces for some reason. I guess conceivably it could fit into that date range being a 4.4m but generally that’s expected to be service case numbers. Maybe Rolex could confirm? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Various tables list 4,115,000 – 4,260,000 and then 5,000,000 – 5,085,000 for 1976 with the missing 4.3 ~ 4.9M reserved for service cases.
