Discount Daytona - 2K Discount From AD
My AD has had this Daytona for a while. They have discounted the price $2,000 because of the scratches on the bezel.
Do you think its worth the money at this point or just pass? Hell if I Can figure out how to post a picture here. HTML Code:

Discount Daytona - 2K Discount From AD
Try to post it by simply attaching the picture ... as I am having difficulties to see it ... but despite it if you have discount on Daytona ... take it ... there will be more scratches for sure ... can be polished or bezel changed and the price retention will be still there

Is this one stainless, or TT/PM? If stainless, I'm assuming it's the pre-ceramic version (based on bezel scratches).
Even so, if it's stainless that's still brand new, but has just been a bit shopworn, it sounds like a good deal, since the watch otherwise still sells at a premium. Anything else, however, is routinely available below MSRP, albeit not necessarily $2k (unless you're talking solid gold). |

Here is the watch. How long has this been on the shelf as “new”? This dial combo is no longer available I don’t think.

If you like it, and it speaks to you - I say get it. Scratches are going to happen to the bezel no matter what so you’ve already gotten that out of the way!

I like daytonas and really like the dial's white/ black contrast. Not a fan of arabic dials though. If I was in the market for a TT and liked the watch I think I'd do it. I wouldn't mind the scratches. In a month's time you would have added yours anyway.

TT panda / Paul Newman dial? Looks nice. How much? What reference?
If you’re getting it in the sub $15k amount I think it’s a good price. |

Try to forget about the price and focus on whether or not you actually like the watch......that way you should avoid a potentially expensive mistake.......I speak from experience!!

FWIW, here is the same watch, from an online grey dealer whose prices seem to be (relatively) reflective of "market" rates:
https://www.authenticwatches.com/rol...l#.XKDFoS2ZN0s Condition appears to be same, as they advertise it as "store display model" (which they define as brand new, unused, blank warranty card, but signs of wear from being handled). I tend to think that their prices are probably a little higher than what can be negotiated in person with an AD if there's a strong relationship, but a little better than what one can expect going into an AD with no relationship. |

When you're talking discontinued models, terms like discount are very relative.
If you like the watch, (and I love that model by the way), and the price is reasonable to you, then my thought is why not. |

Discount Daytona - 2K Discount From AD
Hard to say - but it could be up to 10 years old. Did you notice if it had the repair engraved with ROLEX ROLEX ROLEX & the s/n? Is it a random s/n? Some don’t and that would mean it could even be older. I had that same TT model with same dial - ref. 116523 and I think 2013-14 was the final production for that particular dial combo. However, the 116523 continued until Basel 2016 when Rolex replaced it with the 116503. Now on that price - what MSRP are they using to take off the $2000? Today’s MSRP is $16,900 - but when that one was produced the MSRP was lower. The secondary market price for NOS on the 116523 is $12,000-$13,000 if that helps. I liked mine very much but flipped it to get a YG Daytona. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Those Daytona's are not for me, they seem to be listed very frequently along with TT daytonas online pre-owned.
But who knows, maybe in 10 years it will be the most desired modern Daytona.

Another vote here for "only buy it if that's what you want" in other words, ignore the price and decide if it's for you.

TT Daytonas generally move very slowly and I would expect discounts. So don't buy just because there's a $2k discount, only buy if your into it because you will take a bigger hit if you decide to sell a few months down the road.

I wouldn't buy based on price alone. If you like it, want it and will wear it then go for it.

Definitely a pass for me. Pricing aside, not a fan of those numerals at all. There is a reason they’ve had it for years... and it’s not the scratches...
