Wimbledon Dial (Green Romans)

CRM Jewelers have been posting the datejust 41 w/ Wimbledon Dial, two tone for several days. ($10,800 jubilee). Green Romans / Slate Dial

They also have An oyster bracelet version that’s a few dollars more.

The watch looks like it pops but I’ve never been able to see one in person.
Who here has? What were your thoughts?

Is it too hard to read the Dial? Or is it a phenomenal piece?

I’m so ready to buy a two tone! Just not certain if this is it!

I've seen it a few times in dealers' windows, and I wouldnt say it "pops", until you notice the green, and then you can't unsee it. Quite subtle (for a Rolex) unless you know the splash of colour. It kind of suits the TT best, but I'm a SS guy so that one draws me more.

I used to own one of these, back in 2012, when it was called the DJ2.
It hasn't changed much!
Amazing wrist presence, everyone would notice it

I had this original version as well. It was an impulse purchase over the TT GMT on vacation. It was very blingy and got lots of looks. The single applied marker next to painted romans drove me crazy when looking at the dial closely. Also strange when in the dark with lume just on a single marker and hands. Ended up quickly trading it. Made me realize that not every rolex holds its value and you still have to buy right

I like mine a lot. Easy to read, really pops in the sun. The detail in the green romans is really good.

I have the SS version. The dial is amazing in the direct sunlight. I do find it difficult read the dial in dim lighting. It is one of my favorite dials due to the green romans.

The green romans look really unique. I think the color combo is nice. The slate dial is also interesting because it changes color based on the light. If you want to see some pictures of that I posted them a little while back when I bought it 2 weeks ago. I would definitely recommend it!

I almost bought one last summer while stopped at a port in St. Maarten, the ad there offered to me for $9800, I wasn't sure if that was a deal or not so I passed. Kinda kicking myself now, I always go back to that and take a look and it is always about 1K more here in the states.

This is an indoor shot, but it really comes alive outdoors.

Any mix of metals, bezel and bracelet style, they all look good with this dial I think. Good with jeans or shorts and a shirt and great with a jacket too.

I've owned several DJ's in the last 30 years and while the (modern) TOG is still my favorite, the Wimbledon DJ41 is my current grail. I have the SS version, and after almost a year, I *still* get a thrill everytime I slip it on.

Reading the dial in bad light can be a minor challenge, but it simply means I get to look at it again and again. Sometimes I even use it to check the time. (lol)

The dial is funky / flashy but subtle / classy which means little or means everything depending on one's personality. Similar to the Milgauss in some respects, it's a Rolex alright, but it's for someone desirous of something slightly outre. Definitely not for everyone, but a cool alternative to a standard Datejust. It *must* be inspected / experienced in person. (Although, I feel that's imperative with anything - fine autos, any jewellery, etc.) Photographs, to be cliche, do not do this watch justice. (Actually, it's tricky to get good pix of the dial.)

I'm sure I didn't help ya, but maybe my unbridled joy was apparent. It's a great watch for me, maybe for you too.

Keep us posted and good luck,
Mark

I love that dial, it’s so distinctive. If I was getting a DJ, I’d go with that dial.

Ss dj 41 green Roman oyster/smooth bezel was on my wish list. Looked forever for one the came across one at AD in that configuration and it did nothing for me and I passed.
