Watch Winder - Best Value (Suggestions)

Looking for the right balance of quality and value in a watch winder for 2-4 Rolex watches that I wear in rotation. The cheap ones I’ve had don’t last (as expected.) It doesn’t have to be pretty, just solid.

Does anyone have a watch winder that they love?

Picked this up for under $60. Its been a bit over a year now and the motor is still buttery smooth.

Best alternative is to hand wind and let the watches run down in between wearing as they don't wear when stopped. Other than that the best winder is the wrist.

The best value suggestion is attached to your arms called wrists and what the watch was designed for not sat on one of these machine things,IMHO these machine things are little more than overpriced big boys toys.So if you have not lost the use of your fingers of have a watch with many many complications which no Rolex has just let them stop and rest if not needed to tell the time on wrist.Its a very simple task to wind reset when you need it must take all of 30 seconds to do.

Just to emphasize the point. Most buy winders believing that they are completing their watch set up. My wife needs a winder because of her arthritis and it is difficult for here to set her watches. As I mentioned earlier, keeping the watch running will certainly negatively affect the amount of time between services. Unless the watch has some unusual complication or old movement there is really no reason to keep them running. Doing so is harmful to the watch.

As I said above, using a winder can hurt the watch. The above negatives regarding watch winders is helping the guy out. Which is better to take cyanide or arsenic?

O.P. follow up.... Lots of good information here. I sincerely appreciate everyone’s input. Good food for thought regarding the many misconceptions regarding watch winders as well as the potential adverse affects of these devices. The is why I love and support TRF.

I got my Explorer II as a wedding gift in 1995 and have used various winders off and on and she still runs like a champ without having ever been serviced. In my particular situation, it’s a convenience I enjoy.

With all due respect to those who may disagree, I welcome additional input from those who have winders that have stood up to the test of time. (No pun intended.) Thank you!

It has been great. The heavier cabinet makes this noticeably quieter (nearly silent) than the old Pangaea, although it too was pretty quiet.

The straw man insults about winders being “unnecessary” aside, I find the convenience of a winder well worth it.

I have used a 6 watch Benson winder for several years. Each watch individually controlled as regards turns per day and rotation direction.
Have it in bedroom and it is very quite.
