I feel I am one of few that actually use their GMT for its intended purpose! I see others and ask them if they travel or what time zones they frequent. More often than not I get the reply, "I just liked the watch, I don't know what the extra hand does." OMG the horror.

Yes, I'm sure you're one of the VERY few people on this forum that travels, flies an airplane or knows how to properly set a GMT for UTC...Congrats

Yes, I also love the fourth hand. Great watches the GMT and Expy II.

Now, I just use my trusty Expy II fourth hand to provide me with 24 hour time. Not that I need it anymore.......it's just nice to know it's there.

I don't use the watch often for different time zones but when I do this watch comes in handy. I like the watch for its classic lines, beauty and history. I get a lot of compliments on the way it looks and when someone asks me the brand and I tell them you can see their eyes light up.

Yes so do I. I always use my GMT 2 when I travel - what I like about it is that the red arrow hand (or green, as in the case of the new GMT2c) is very visible, unlike other GMT models I've seen where the 2nd time zone hand is clearly only cosmetic.

Yes, it's handy for me as a ham radio operator (K4YK) to have UTC available at a glance:

Is there any general agreement as to the absolute easiest way to use a GMT with rotating bezel to tell three time zones? My watches are Omegas, but the Rolex GMT two tone is on the wish list. Seems like the three time zone matter is up for debate as far as explanations goes. What is the best way to understand it?

gmt is my favorite.. better in every way against submariner EXCEPT the quickset date.. but its a little fun to spin the hours around to change date.

Oh yes...

Something minor but handy, I find, is that if the watch stops having not been worn for a while, I can tell exactly when and reset the date accordingly (I tend to leave the 24hr hand set to local time). Hey Presto, no more "date changing at 12 Noon" nightmares...

Cheers

Watch: What do you think?

Absolutely. I travel a fair amount and the GMT-II is the mainstay watch across time zones. It's going to London with me tomorrow night.

I considered taking some other watches for the GTG on Sunday, but decided that the hassle of having to clear them with Customs on the way out so I wouldn't get tagged on the way home is not worth the effort. So the guys will be stuck looking at my all black GMT-II. But, hey, it could be worse. It could be a RADO!! (For you, JJ. )

I'm a ham radio operator and bought my first GMT back in the '70's for its GMT function for logging radio contacts (plus I just liked its looks!). Now I travel a fair amount internationally and it's obviously very useful for that. But if I didn't travel I'd still wear it as it's one of the best of the entire Rolex lineup as far as I'm concerned.

Use the GMT function on my Exp II when travelling so it has proved useful and looks great.

It's cause it reminds you the colours of the French flag right?
I actually thought it is the nicest too.
EDIT: I thought you said you like the white Explorer on the Pepsi hence my comment on the flag colours.
