Value of building a relationship...Incoming!

Gents,

I’m fortunate enough to live in a small market that has a fantastic AD. They are friendly, knowledgeable and don’t play games. They don’t sell over the phone, but rather want the hot watches to be sold and worn locally.

After getting to know them over the years, bought a handful of Rolexes, stopped to talk watches on occasion, I asked 6 months ago if I could get the next Pepsi. They said “absolutely the next one is yours if you want it.” True to their word, they called this week and said we have a Pepsi and a Batman that just came in, and you get first dibs on whichever one you want.

I thought all night and couldn’t decide which to get. I went the next day and looked and still couldn’t decide. They said think on it another night and let us know. So after another long night I made the call and couldn’t be happier.

It’s not quite a grail, but it’s grail-esq. Anyway, I couldn’t be happier! Oh, also got it on my 20th anniversary, so that’s cool too!

Great choice Mike!
I'm blessed with a fantastic AD in a small market, as well.
Enjoy your BLRO.

Big congrats to you, Mike! Very happy to hear you were able to get one in a reasonable amount of time -- even better the AD presented that choice to you. I think you made the right decision, FWIW. And bigger congrats on the big 20th anniversary!

Congrats, that’s a great choice. Love the Pepsi. Great AD, too. Small town ADs are the best.

Thank you all very much. This feels different than any Rolex I've ever owned. I'm not sure if it's the Pepsi bezel or the jubilee bracelet, but it really works.

I certainly understand the hype around the Batman now too.

Just by reading your post I can tell that you seem like a really nice guy with great attitude. I definitely understand why your AD gives you first dibs. Congrats on getting the watch you wanted!

Thanks so much! Watch collecting should be an enjoyable endeavor. I still believe the Rolex Forum is the classiest place on the internet.

They gave me my choice between them, but the one I didn’t pick was going to someone else.

Also I certainly wouldn’t have been able to afford both since I just picked up an Air-King last month.

Here’s some pics of the Batman. What a stunner!

Congrats - great watch. What’s not “grail” about a Pepsi?
