Buyer's remorse...

Just picked up the new JC DSSD yesterday and I can't make myself like it. The case is simply too thick for my taste. After 24 hrs I thought it would grow on me some but oh well, what's Rolex return policy?

Buyer's remorse...

You should be able to return it to the AD - 24hrs is nothing. It’s more the AD’s return policy- but shouldn’t be a real issue.

Most ADs will give around a week- with a full refund.

Good luck!!

Most ADs I know have a no return policy on Rolex. I’d look to trade it for something else you like. The For Sale threads here are a good place to start.

I hate that feeling. You’re so excited and then the realization sets in. Sorry man but good luck with the return.

Most AD's have a return policy. Definitely a huge piece - but isn't that part of the appeal? This massive hunk of watch that goes down 12800ft.

Precisely.
That's what it's all about and should've been the OP's primary consideration. I know it was mine when I picked it up and it still took me weeks to become completely comfortable with it the way I like to wear a watch

The only bit of advice I might offer is to give it a little more time. It does take some getting used to. As you already know, it won't be a problem moving it along if it really doesn't work for you.

I would imagine you could return it, BUT based on darn near every other Rolex SS Sports watch, you may be able to sell it for more than you paid assuming you paid retail with maybe a discount.

If no return possible, try putting on an after market rubber strap, Rubber B or Everest and see if that changes the dynamic for you.

The size can be a bit daunting. Probably why a bnib black dial just sold for below srp at the for sale section. The JC should go for above retail though. It’s an engineering marvel, that watch, much like the SkyD.

You bought a watch you didn't like... It's perfectly normal to experience buyer's remorse.

Gotta ask - why buy it in the first place?

I've loved that dial since it came out and got too exited when I got the call , I guess. I'm not going to return it, don't want to upset my AD

What a ridiculous mindset. You purchased a watch you don't like. And don't want to return it for fear of 'upsetting' your AD? Are you serious? I can assure you that your AD isn't losing sleep over you at night. It's just business. If your AD relationship is of any value, then it should be able to withstand your expressing regret for having purchased the watch in haste.

I agree with you 100% but they held the watch for me and I gave them my word that I wanted it. I just think they would not appreciate me returning it since all stickers are removed and they can’t sell it as “new”. My next option is to give a member here their chance to get their grail watch at msrp + the tax I paid. It never hurts to pay it forward

You better be married to this AD or this is taking being whipped to a whole new level!

Agreed.

It will be better to trade the watch or better still flip it privately for a tidy sum, then get something that he "really wants" and not something that he likes the idea of.

Might be the complete opposite, you are being honest, showing your not some flipper & he gets to offer it to a client who really wants it. This might get you at the top of the list for anything you desire. Call the AD!

I bought the same watch and wore it for a few months straight. I did get used to it and really enjoyed it. I then bought the SD43 and wore that for a few weeks. After wearing the SD43 I didn't really want to go back to the Deep Sea. It's an amazing watch but the opportunity presented itself and I traded it for a BLNR.

As others suggested, you can try and trade it.

I've had the sd43 for 2 years, that's why I can't do the DSSD,The sd43 fits me better. I'll sell the DSSD at cost to TRF higher ups for the next "GIVEAWAY" Watch

It’s a beautiful piece. You might be sorry if you let it go.

Don’t know about your AD, but mine has “no returns” on their receipts.

You can get your money back anytime in that watch here or elsewhere. Thank your lucky stars it was JC and not Black dial or you’d be upside down.

That’s how I was with my GMT. I could acknowledge how great it was. Just wasn’t what I wanted. Should have no problem trading or selling if they won’t take it back.

Don’t waste time crying over spilled milk. If you don’t like it, sell it and move on. Life is too short. I have decided I’m all done with thick, large watches. I’ve tried to talk myself into a couple different ones but they just aren’t my cup of tea.
