Leather Strap/Clasp Question for Globemaster
I've been looking at the Globemaster/leather strap on the Omega website (GLOBEMASTER OMEGA CO‑AXIAL MASTER CHRONOMETER 39 MM). I'm assuming this comes with a deployment clasp. Being old fashioned and having never owned a watch with deployment, I have to ask.....is it possible to remove the clasp and fasten the strap with a plain old pin and buckle? Would I have to buy a whole new clasp? Or, is the deployment clasp so wonderful I will wonder why I have never had one before now? Thanks from a never before Omega owner.

The Omega strap it comes with will only work with the Omega deployant clasp (the length of one side of the strap prevents using a pin buckle). I enjoy the deployant, and you might, too. If not, then there is a market for the original Omega strap and clasp here and on other fora, and the proceeds from the Omega components would handily cover the cost of a high quality strap that works with a pin buckle. Top quality straps in genuine alligator run ~$300, so even if you keep the original components the outlay for a strap of your preference isn’t too crazy.
Wait, did I just say $300 for a strap isn’t crazy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
