How often do you use your glide lock?

Curious how often everyone else uses their glide lock. I find myself using it way more than I ever anticipated, and now I wonder how I ever lived without it. Frankly, I love it so much that it makes me want to narrow future timepiece purchases to those that also have super easy micro-adjustments.

Am I alone in this? It’s summer in the south and my wrists swell like crazy over the course of a day.

Never use mine to be honest, My wrist obviously doesn't swell that much.

I hardly ever used it; I'd get it adjusted and then just wear my watches. I no longer have a watch with a glide lock just the easy link on my Daytona. I occasionally use that.

I use mine frequently throughout the day depending on humidity, and activity level. It’s a great feature indeed.

I wish they had a smaller version for the other professional models

I have to adjust throughout the day all year, whether I’m wearing a glidelock or the easy link.

If I wear one of my watches without a micro adjust, I’ll have to take it off a few times during the day just to release the pressure on my wrist. Sometimes set it down for a few minutes even.

I think I swell more than normal... if I’m wearing my AP, it will hang over the top of my hand first thing in the morning. By noon it’s caused an indentation in my wrist.

One of my close friends has had his black GMT ceramic since it came out and didn’t realize it even had the easy link until we had a similar conversation a few weeks ago.

He’s never used it!

Follow up question: what is the weather like where you live and does this affect things? I’m in the South and it is hot as hell here. That makes me swell in the summer. I don’t have nearly the same swelling in the winter. For a watch without micro adjustments, I would typically adjust it to be comfy in the summer and then it would be loose in the winter. I’m a woman so loose watches read more bracelet-y for me, but I imagine this would be problematic for a guy.

I live in south western Ontario where our temps range from about -20 in the winter, to 30 and humid in the summer.

As above, the glidelock feature is something I use frequently here. I also use the easy link extension quite a bit too, although IMO the glidelock is better for its smaller 2mm adjustments.

I have a Sub-C date, 116610LN. Love it to bits. I originally suggested to my husband that we share his, but you can predict how that went. So now we have two in the family.

I’ve wondered if easy link would be as user friendly. It’s honestly kind of amazing that something like bracelet adjustability can factor so heavily into the enjoyment of a watch, but it does.

Just about everyday, especially in the summer between the heat and humidity and too much air conditioning at work. It is a convenience that helps make a watch more comfortable. I do wish Rolex included it on other models, even if it was smaller with less range of adjustment.

Submariner glidelock is the reason I won’t seriously consider another watch without a glidelock.

I have been using the glidelock more and more often. I live in the south if that matters. Last month I used the easy link adjustment on my Datejust for the 1st time.

What kind of workout do you do? I’ve wondered how people handle this, whether to wear a watch to the gym or not. I forgot and left mine on once, and just used the glide lock to get it up above my wrist supports, but I was hyper aware of it as I was lifting. I don’t think the ceramic bezel would do well if I smacked it into an iron plate while re-racking. But if you have it on already, probably safer on your wrist than in a locker or in your car.

I also do martial arts, and I absolutely do not wear a watch there, both for my safety and the safety of others. The only things we are allowed are wedding bands, and I wear a silicone one. Not worth the injury risk.

Makes it super easy for her to adjust to fit her wrist.

I use mine pretty much every time I wear it. TBH though, its usually just for micro-adjustments (due to humidity and wrist swelling) and the easylink system on my Daytona and GMT work just as well.
