I have a Sub (no date) and like it fine. I felt the date wasn't worth the extra $1k. Of course I have other watches with dates. If the Sub were my only watch I would have gone with the date version.

The date is definitely worth the extra $1k. Wish the Daytona had a date window like the AP ROC.

The lesson I learned was for a daily watch I needed the date function.

Same

I just got a polar Explorer 2 - 216570. Without spending an arm and a leg, and staying in SS, that's a great option. Travel, work, swimming, vacations... it's a winner.

This is so true. Everytime I wear a watch without it I look down for the date several times a day. You don't realize how often you use it until you don't have it.

I’m fine with/without the date complication, definitely would not rule out a watch just because it lacks the feature.

I tried, lasted about a year and then swapped out the watch for something with a date function. I just used it way more than I thought I did.

For me ... I have always found the date function to be almost essential.

I wear A Sub Date and DD mostly .. I would love my Sub Date to have the day also.

I have one with Date and one without. I LOVE how clean the dial is on my Sub. My GMT is cluttered (while it does have another hand, it is the cyclops that clutters it).

I actually feel more relaxed when wearing the No Date. Kinda like Buffet’s “Changes in latitude, Changes in attitude”, a No Date makes you more at ease.

Thank you! I really do think the jubilee takes an already beautiful watch to the next level. I am totally guilty of staring at this watch every chance I get.

i prefer no date especially on my Daytona.

i don't need a date. and makes setting watch easier if you don't need to set date

My first Rolex was a ND Sub. I had the choice with both date and no-date in my hand, and I chose ND. Interestingly, very quickly I started dailying the watch and realized I would have liked the date function.

Under 3 months later I had added a GMT LN to the mix. Started wearing that one more, very quickly. I can agree with the poster above, I do experience some element of relaxation when I wear my ND Sub. It tends to be the watch I wear when I'm not at work... so I guess that explains that!

I prefer an unobstructed dial. I'm surrounded by devices that let me know the date most of the time. When I'm away from them all I'm really interested in is the time. A timing function is handy though and I use the bezel on my sub a lot.

"Hey you, what's today's date?"

Works about 90% of the time.

I personally like the Sub over the Sub date.

For me a one and only must have a date. However, in a decent sized collection I find there’s definitely room for a ND watch.

I had this dilemma when purchasing my Speedmaster. It’s not bad without a date, but it does come in handy. So when I bought my Sub, I went with a date, even over the nostalgia of 007.

If you take a look at my sig, every single Rolex I've ever owned and own have had dates. Took the plunge with an Explorer and absolutely love the watch. Haven't missed it at all.

I love the classic Submariner. Without a date, it looks so symmetrical and clean. I would happily own a non-dated Rolex, given the fact a date check is a minimal occurrence.

I have a preference for no date on Rolex models due to lack of cyclops. Thus, I don’t mind the older SD models.

Date is a must have for me. I passed on a Daytona for this very reason.

To each their own, I like a date!
