Chart: SS sports and their PM price percentage increase
I was curious about what the PM price of each Rolex sports model is in percentage relation to its SS variant. I was wanting a simple visual of which models jumped least and most from SS to PM in comparison to other models. Here I'm assuming metal bracelet unless otherwise noted and the starting dial configuration. Highlighted in green is lowest increase in that category and in red is highest increase in that category. Chart is in Euro retail prices and I'm not sure if the Platona price is accurate.

Thank you for sharing. But this is based on retail prices, yes? It would be interesting to see how much the gap closes when you consider market prices.

Retail, yes. It would be impossible to provide any kind of precise comparison if using market prices considering they depend entirely on seller, location, condition and so on.

I am not sure your initial data is quite precise. Check retail prices with Alpino’s chart and you shall see what I mean. Said chart is top level (thanks Alpino). Double checked quite a few pieces and info there was always precise. For example in the info as hereby above Daytona in RG and WG has quite a difference, while actual retail prices are the same!

Interesting, thanks for assembling. Seems like the YG and WG Daytona’s are comparatively favorably priced.

SS SkyD has a WG bezel and a SS bracelet.
If I get your intention correctly, you're trying to back-out what markup Rolex has on which materials. You should be comparing the $ per oz (or euro per gram) of metal to get a better comparison. |
