Meh - not really a discount IMO. Still seems in line with what I see from other Greys. Could be just me though.

$8k over suggested retail is hardly a "discount".

It's unbelievable what the watch world has come to.

I took a year-ish break from the forums and come back see this and just

+1. "discount" from a gray these days isn't a discount. But I see what OP means..... its just DavidSW making it seem more attractive since it seems he has inventory of them he wants to get rid of.

Truth.

Charges ~$8K over retail, and then discounts $400.

OP you will go down in history as one who've found a great addition to George Orwell's famous 1984 quote:

I bought mine from my AD on a random Wednesday out of the display case for just over 8k about 2-3 years ago.

Sorry to hijack thread, but I'm more shocked that the color green on the Daytona is $20k / 60% more, especially considering retail is $34,650!

P.S. - I'm only commenting on the market price, not DavidSW.

He also said the Blue dial WG Daytona was a watch to buy and it never took off.

Same - I bought a Sub no-date and GMT from him a few years ago and it was automatic that a TS would offer below retail.

In fact, that was the standard advice when a newbie came onto the forum asking about where/how to buy a Rolex: "buy from a TS and save loads, still get the warranty" etc. You could copy and paste that dozens of times a week.

If you had told me back then that, in just a few years, everything would be flipped on its head and $8k OVER retail would be considered a "discount" and ADs are the BEST place to get a Rolex at a good price I would have told you
