polished or non-polished?

Should I buy a non-polished patek watch, or should I buy one polished with patek warranty?

Normally I think a polished watch should look better? But it seems ppl prefer non-polished? I am a little bit confused.

This polish thing is more times a joke than anything. Meaning they should say instead “never polished by incompetent people”. Because that’s when you know a watch has been polished , when they do bad enough job to get noticed and then people call it and say “this watch has been polished”

I say first find a seller you trust , then examine the watch and see if it looks acceptable to you , and if in doubt consult with someone that knows more than you.

Brand new >used light scratches>used professionally polished>used deep scratches,dents>unprofessionally polished=ruined

Polished watches look “soft” sometimes and that’s why they are discriminated against. Honest wear is ideal and can actually enhance the value of a watch.

The question always has to be “who polished it?” If a non authorized dealer polished it, I would not buy it. Patek watchmakers use special tools and techniques that non AD ‘s simply can’t duplicate, especially the brushed bezel and bracelet. They also are more liable to round the edges far from factory original. If the piece was sent to Patek and they have documentation to prove it , then I would be fine w it , if it’s been done by anyone else don’t buy it , it will be very tough to sell if you ever want to.
