Tortured by my choice...enablers needed

I’ve owned and traded multiple rolexes and have been Rolex free for a bit...was going to go vintage but changed my mind and am torn between explorer 2 or sub c...have had the sub c and liked it...my first ever Rolex was 40mm polar explorer 2...I’ll likely get both eventually but need some enablers to push me over the edge...please! Pictures always help as we all know...

Thank you!

I have the Explorer II (polar) and the sub C no date as my only 2 Rolex watches. They are both wonderful, and you would be happy with either as a single watch so you can't go wrong. Probably start with whichever you can get, and add the other at a later date

Sounds like you sold low and are now looking to buy high. I'd stay out of the game my friend, if I'm being completely frank and honest with you.

I have both. 16570 and 116610. If I could only have one..... urgh.

116610LN. It's that good.

Tough choice and my 16570 has been on many adventures with me so I'd NEVER sell it. The modern SubC is just so friggin good its scary. The ceramic bezel, bracelet, feel, finish and accuracy is just stellar.

Here you go:

Both are great! I really love all Rolex references, but first buy the SubC!

I’d be glad to enable. I’d go with both. But first get the Explorer II. The 42mm size and steel bezel really cranks up the badassness of this watch.

Also, they did a masterful job when they upped the size from 40 to 42mm. Bigger case, bigger lume plots, bigger hands, even a bigger date wheel and bigger bracelet.

The oversized hands - especially the 24 hour hand - really works with this model. It makes the hands on my BLRO fairly dainty by comparison.

Life is short...... get both
If you want to choose one first, I’d start with the subC

I’d go SubC first and explorer second, but can’t go wrong either way.

I love the look of the Exp 2 but I feel Rolex made a mistake by equipping it with the smaller Twinlock crown instead of the more robust Triplock. This is why I eventually sold mine.
