Sub Date or No Date..

I know there probably are lots of these threads but I need to decide between the two. My take - I like the idea of the no date but for some reason without the bubble it just doesn't 'feel like a Rolex' which I know is ridiculous given the original Sub didn't even have one! Anyway, the AD I have a great relationship with has agreed to put me on the list for both pieces and she will call me when the next one comes in likely next 2-3 months so I need to decide!
Update: this will be my only watch..

A submariner has no date. You can get one with a date but it’ll be a date submariner

On a more practical note, I check the date a lot at work but instead of looking at my watch I now glance to the top right of the screen on my MacBook instead. A small price to pay in exchange for the clean dial look (mine’s a two liner).

Good luck with the hunt!

Have two Submariners (2-line and 4-line) and one Submariner Date (116610). If I had to only have one, I would get the Submariner Date, and that’s how I voted.

No Date for me, especially if it’s to be a part of a collection.

If it’s going to be your everyday watch then maybe the date would possibly be my choice though because I do like that functionality. Ideally there would be a Date No Cyclops submariner...( Seadweller?)

There is just something special about the symmetry of the no date and it’s simple timeless beauty.

I love the date and miss it on watches without it. I also hated the cyclops forever, until I came around to loving it.

Same here for me! I like have the choice between date and no date, along with a choice between 5 digit and 6 digit models. To be honest, they’re two very different watches when you factor in both points of variance.

I bought a Sub. I didn't want to pay an extra grand for the date, and I have plenty of other date watches.

price was a factor for me, but have grown to appreciate the ND sub. All my other rolexes have the cyclops bubble. I'm tired of the dirt that accumulates around the bubble. It's nice to change it up now and then. You can always go for a Hulk and a ND LN. Lots of versatility there.

I personally use the date function and like the bubble. The only thing that matters is that you get what speaks to you.

Date for me...oddly enough, I find myself needing to look at the date fairly often, so I prefer dates on all my watches.
