More BS about the bubble bursting

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sD3n...ature=youtu.be

Right, the bubble has burst because for example Watchfinder UK has been forced to reduce the price on, among their hundreds of BLNRs etc, my poor GMT LN, now reduced to the humiliating sum of about 13.5k US, or $18,013.00 CAD as of today.

Yes clearly the "bubble has burst".

Man what a load of crap.

Oh I dunno. The Scottish chap who reviews the cheapest garbage money can buy, the South African with the rebadged China fake factory stuff and the Euro bloke with Bond the French bulldog and an Automatic Speedmaster have got to be closer to the bottom.

I see that you've compiled sort of a table here. Cockney...you mean the dodgy-looking "former dealer", whose son was sentenced for selling many fake watches? Roman is the bearded Russian character from Brighton Beach? He does have cool watches.
Not familiar with a couple of other names you have there. Is the Urban Gentry missing from your list? It's him the Pontiff calls the Rodent 1, right? I find him physically appalling, and I'm not even a bird.

Coming from the East End of London and to qualify as a “ real Cockney “ then you need to be born within the sounds of Bow bells and The London Whitechapel Hospital I can assure you the chap is more Dick Van Dyke “ cockney” then a real Cockney,,,
As far as I am aware he is from Sussex and maybe the south of London in earlier years,, no Cockney,,,,

I’m feeling that prices are going to slip now rather than rise. It will be interesting to see after Christmas and into the new year. I think you would have difficulty getting that much for your GMT. You might be surprised.

will have to wait and see, what I can tell you in America, specifically in Florida where I live the waiting list for SS models are huge and it may take years to get one SS GMT, Daytona , forget it, even the subs SS with no previous history long time, with previous history several months.

I’m in Florida too so I understand. But I’m in Canada now but coming back next week for awhile. But I think the op is too optimistic about what he could get unless it’s new with stickers. By the way a friend of mine with a buying history wanted a Ss Sub last week. One was brought out for him from the back, Mayors in Orlando. They do have things in the back.

Adrian is really into value retention. He bought and sold a BLNR and a Harrods Tudor for profit from new.

Prices are still higher tha they were in 2016 before Brexit and the US election and successive stock market rally.

What is happening right now is just standard market fluctuation. Prices are still on the rise on a relative basis. If this were the stock market, you'd say Rolex stock was X% above all time highs.

Most of the watch channels are rubbish. It’s all opinion based by newbies that like to hear themself talk, trying to look important to get subscribers to keep their channel seem relevant. Some scream and use excessive profanity like a buffoon and others found just owning a camera was all the qualifications they needed to have a watch channel.

The youtube vlog bubble needs to burst. I'm so done with these channels, they only produce BS and are like clickbait articles. Most are directed towards people who are clueless or way too young.

I'm sounding old but youtube used to be a lot better 10 years ago when there wasn't this kind of money involved. But that's another subject.

The exact same could be said of this forum. It’s full of misinformation and bs threads. No better or worse than a YouTube channel that you are free to watch or not watch just as we are free to read or not read here.

Bashing media where the content producers are visible personalities (such as YouTube) from the comfort of an anonymous Internet forum is tactless and distasteful (you even manage to be ageist as well, because heaven forbid young people move in on a hobby that is the sacred domain of the decrepit and elderly)

Since this bubble thing seems to be inside baseball - a UK pastime - I will refrain from further comment and merely watch with interest.

I'm not sure what people were actually paying for the SS hotties here.. They've certainly not gone soft. Burst pffft I don't think so.

Seems like everyone with a SS model came out of the woodwork to sell over the last year or so. This saturation is seemingly forcing a dip in some SS models. The Daytona will always be an exception, as that's one Rolex's halo models. They've always maintained exclusivity on that one, and I wouldn't expect that to change for the foreseeable future. As for a price downturn, I expect the current consensus of a gentle and shallow dip, followed by constant slight upward value gain like before the madness.
