New Addition Advice

Hello everyone! New to the forum but longtime Rolex owners. So its been at least 10 years since I have bought a new watch (other than employee anniversary gifts) and need some direction. Our dealer who we have dealt with for 20+ years is offering us a new watch of my choice. Never buying looking for resale in mind (other than Porsche GT cars lol) from the below list what is the hot watch today? I'm not in a hole but wow the market appears to have shifted since I last looked.

Stainless Daytona (Black or White)
Pepsi or Batman (although not sure I wanted a jubilee band on a pro watch)
Sky Dweller Stainless/ Blue dial never owned one but friend has one looks nice
Stainless Sub/Date
Stainless GMT Batman he has 1 left with Oyster Bracelet not sure when they changed to jubilee but its a strange shift in style in my opinion.

Thats it just wanted to hear from people that follow this closely and are up to date. Thanks and looking forward to adding this forum to my reading list.

Obviously this question is impossible to answer without knowing what else is in the collection.

If picking randomly in the dark, white Daytona seems like a safe pick. Or if want diversity, then Blue Skydweller since there were no Skydwellers pre 2009.

White dial Daytona or the blue dial Sky-Dweller.

New Addition Advice

We would need to know what else you have in your collection to answer this question.

Also, what function do you want? Chrono, GMT, diver and once again need to know your collection.

Are you looking for stainless or TT or PM because there are good options either way, esp if resale value is not as much an issue

What’s your wrist size and what size watches do you generally like? A Daytona and a skydweller are going to wear very differently

For myself the choice is clear - white ceramic Daytona. I have this piece and actually almost turned it down when offered it by the AD last year. Once I saw it in the flesh, however, I was smitten. It wears perfectly on my wrist and is extremely versatile (wore it with a tuxedo at my wedding) and actually quite understated. I have gotten the most compliments on this watch from true watch enthusiasts (vs my YG DD40 for example).

Hope this helps

Do you buy a watch because the internet dictates its a hot watch and must have.Or are you a more sensible person who buys the watch you want to own and wear.

Have to agree completely.

Since you have the good fortune to have your pick. Go try them on. Get the one you like.

Or... buy what others think is "hot" and keep it in the drawer.

Just my opinion.

Just buy the watch you like the most (and not the watch that is hot according to those stupid social media sites).

Thanks for all the responses. I do agree get what you like and Thankfully the group of watches I like across the board on are safe bets.

I don't have many but do have a Black dial Daytona previous generation and I know the dealer has a new White Dial Daytona and that's where I was leaning. I'm 6'3 so larger watches fit me well. I just wear them as what the day calls for as example Apple Watch on my run this morning. He also had a white gold Daytona that I love but I have to draw the line.

Thanks again great forum look forward to reading more.

Welcome to the forum.

Do you want a dive watch, a chronograph or an annual calendar?

Start there and good luck!

I would go with the white Daytona or the blue Skydweller, but lean towards the Daytona.

Daytona white or black dial 40mm case size. Skydweller blue dial 42mm case size. That would be my two choices in that order. unless I change my mind then switch that order.

BLNR on oyster.

Tried one on for the first time today and loved it. It was up for double retail though.

To be honest you can’t go wrong with any on that list so buy what one you like the look of the most.
