Hulk going down Bluesy going up

I have noticed this in the UK, is there a trend shift happening I wonder...

Hulk is a beautiful piece no doubt, Bluesy is iconic understated and has been lagging behind the SS prices maybe it is just starting to catch up. Watch-Finder had 17 Bluesy 2 weeks ago. Now just 9.

Talk of Rolex to discontinue current 116613lb and update movement might have a part in the upswing.

Intresting to watch how this plays out.

Or maybe just TT is becoming back into the trend.

Two Tone is the best of both worlds. Can't understand why it went out of fashion.

True, or maybe it's the Xmas period coming up and TT could be a Cristmas piece for some people

Maybe people are realising that the Hulk is a 6.5k piece with an outdated movement.

2ish years ago, I bought a complete Hulk set, excellent condition for 7.5k paypaled and shipped.
Before the hype and madness kicked in, deals could still be found on those models.

LOL

I bought my very first Hulk for $7k flat full box and papers in MINT almost new condition. It wasnt even that long ago.

Its overpriced trust me. I'd feel like an idiot if I paid $13k for a Hulk. Just doesnt feel like a watch worth more than msrp.

I agree, I have owned a Hulk and it doesnt feel like a 15k watch in the hand, Bluesy on other hand feels more Luxurious with the Gold and extra weight

Its 9250 msrp. Still confused. 1.5 years ago the hulk started to become rare to find and cheapest i would see them was 10.5-12 grand.

6.5 or 7grand? If you got them for that cheap, i can say good buy and that wont happen again. Theyll be over 20k when they get discontinued

In reality, we are not going to turn the world in the other direction. It's simple, just look to the past and the history of Rolex to see that steel pieces have always outperformed gold or bi-color ones !

There can be a fashion but like all, it is doomed to obsolescence.
Simply because there is a story. The LV celebrates the anniversary of the Submariner, and the Hulk is the heiress. There will always be a strong interest in these pieces in many years from collectors, enthusiasts or connoisseurs.

The blue is beautiful, but does not tell anything, it's "just" a beautiful watch.

A rating is not judged on a wave of 3 months, but over 10 years.
You will see, if the Hulk is stopped its value will explode and the balls of crystal with.

My 2 cents

Hulk.....5 years...10 years...20 years....Hulk will most likely outperform any TT or PM.... Based on what you ask? Past history....Rolex SS outperforms.

Although past history does NOT guarantee future results....I would put my money on SS!

This is what people said about Rolex 16520 Zenith movement when it was replaced by the 4130 movement in the 116520. Now go out and try to buy the outdated Rolex Daytona with an outdated Zenith 4030 movement.

The Rolex 3135 has been around for almost three decades and is used in multiple references. It's time proven, well researched, easy to service, and plenty of spare parts. I'll take 3135 any day.

Love both and very much on my radar as next watch as I want to introduce a bit of colour into the rotation (and complete the land, sea & air). Would never and can not understand people paying more for the green all steel version but there you go..

I think it is a difficult time of the year to gauge the market. Christmas and a lot of inventory moving around. Come the 15th of January I think we will start to get a feel for where everything is.

116713 GMT TT is making steady price progress as well.
WF only have 2, compared to a shed load of 116710LN and Batmans

Have a bluesy, on the list for a hulk, which I do think is a quite unique piece.

Nobody can predict what will happen at Basel - the only sure thing is new releases everyone will want but nobody will be able to get

As above poster said people realising the LV is just a $9k watch. Its not worth nowhere near its current ask for $13-$14k.

Sooooo much better value in the Bluesy and honestly if you hold them right next to each other the LV doesnt come close to the beauty of that sunburst blue.

YG Gold and Blue combo works so well and it has since ancient Egypt times.

I've had both, and can tell you they're both phenomenal watches.

In the end, though, there was just a little too much green for me with the LV-C, so now only the bluesy remains.

I, like Larry have had both, and would agree they are both fantastic timepieces. But for different reasons.

The LB to me is arguably the best combination of sports and dress that Rolex has ever produced. The LV is just an amazing example of an awesome sports. To my surprise, I was shocked that it is the LV that I miss the most out of all the watches I used to own. In hindsight, I should have kept it in my collection.

One thing is for certain, the sunburst dials on both watches are absolutely stunning.
