1 Sports Model limit per customer?

Hello,

I picked up my BLNR a couple months ago from my AD. Went in again last week to see if I could get my name down for a sub date and the SA I normally work with told me that the AD would not let me buy another sports model until after a year from my last sports model purchase.

Does that make sense? I have never came across the same rule since I joined the forum.

Sounds like SA/AD hubris and has nothing to do with Rolex. If that AD doesn’t want your business, walk away and go somewhere else.

I find that going to another AD with no purchase history is even harder haha. Immediate shutdown whenever any ss model is muttered.

The SA is really telling you that you need to buy some other things too...if you want more SS...

Find another SA, that's ridiculous.

Seems totally reasonable to allow more people with potentially new customers being able to acquire one at MSRP.

Agreed. Also at a minimum slows down the flippers.

Congrats on your BLNR. Trying telling him you want to buy some diamonds or a full gold watch and see if he changes his answer....my guess is it will

That makes no sense. My AD has sold me a Sub, Batman, and Pepsi during the last two years. My money is just as green and everyone else’s.

Well it does not appear to be a global policy implemented by Rolex, but your AD could certainly be putting it in place to take better care of their customer base. A 1 year wait between "hot" models really isn't that bad.

Not so with my AD. They will get suspicious of first time buyers trying to buy every hot SS watch in short succession. Until they are sure you're not a flipper. I got 2 in span of less than 6 months since they know I'm not flipping them. And if one of the watches I'm interested in became available today they would have no problem selling it to me.

A good idea is to wear your BLNR next time you visit the store to show you didn't flip it.

I did wear my BLNR when I visited. I can't speak for him, but i am sure he knows i am not a flipper. The BLNR is the second watch i bought from him in just over a year. He also helped me alot to get the BLNR. I wasn't on the list and he managed to get me it in less than 2 weeks.

Its just that ive never heard of any similar rule before on this forum.

On one hand people complain they can’t get what they want at an AD for MSRP, on the other hand people whine anytime ADs take any measures to make that possible.

Thats an odd policy. I’ve bought from my AD within the past year 3 “hot” SS models

I am with the majority of the crowd, find a new AD. All I have purchased from my AD was SS, and the only stipulation they really have is if you get a Daytona, it will be a wait for you to get the other dial...as they wish to be fair to everyone.

Lame policy, but their store...their rules. I'd look elsewhere.
