Cartier Ronde Solo Opinions
Was at a wedding yesterday and saw a friend that had on a cartier ronde solo and thought it looked pretty good on his wrist.
Anyone own one of these and can comment on it? I know Cartier movements typically use ETA and arent anything special. The aesthetic of the watch is interesting though. Have toyed around with the idea of picking up a datejust with a Buckley dial as I find it elegant as wel. The rolex would do much better in terms of value retention but is a nice to have but not a top priority. https://www.cartier.com/en-us/collec...ier-watch.html |

Interesting that there hasn't been much response.
I don't own a Cartier, however I have looked at them quite a bit over the past year and am considering one. The Ronde Solo is a nice watch, if a little plain. For the Ronde Solo, the rose gold version with a strap would be my preference: a little more interesting visually. In stainless, I'd lean towards a Tank (blue or black dial) as a little more versatile, especially with bracelet and strap options. The Drive de Cartier has a nicer dial, as does the Ballon Bleu (OK in stainless, more interesting in two tone). As with all watches, it comes down to personal tastes and how it fits in with other watches you might have. Cartier certainly makes good quality pieces and I don't think you can go wrong with one you decide on. If you have a dealer nearby, it is worth it to go look at the range. Their guilloche dials in particular are really spectacular live. |

My wife has the same watch on a strap and she likes it. Cartier is overpriced for the quality but it's still a very nice watch and the name and history have to be factored in as well. The exact same can be said for Rolex and Patek.

The Ronde solo looks much better in gold and on a leather strap. SS on a bracelet looks weird to me.
