Pics of Basque, Ethiopian, Finnish, Greek, Moroccan Arabic, Polish or Turk day wheel?
Does anyone happen to have pics of a Basque, Ethiopian, Finnish, Greek, Moroccan Arabic, Polish or Turkish day wheel? I'm trying to find pics of all 26 languages and I haven't been able to find those anywhere.
Here are the other 19: Arabic: Catalan: Chinese: Danish: Dutch: English: Farsi: French: German: Hebrew: Italian: Indonesian: Japanese: Latin: Norwegian: Portuguese: Russian: Spanish: Swedish: |

That French one is my actual watch. Got it from HQ Milton in 2015.
And no, it's not for sale. |

I LOVE the Latin dial. I wonder what the odds are it could actually be found in a watch?

Latin is the root of a host of Romance languages (like Italian, Spanish and Portuguese) and isn't unfathomable to those who speak them. Especially Italian, where the words for the days of the week are very similar to those of Latin.
English is more Germanic in style (although it also has roots in Latin), so it's harder for English speakers to understand Latin instinctively. #linguistbyprofession |

Great thread! Part of the charm of the DDs is also given by the different languages of the day wheel.
I have never seen latin but I am very tempted to order one for my watch if it is possible!

First all the co-brands, all the Oysters, all the barked references, and all the stone dials, and now in progress on all the day wheels!
You, sir, are a HUGE asset to this community. Thank you, Rob! |

Great find.....I guess very few were ever made. It would be interesting to know how actually Rolex decided on the Amharic.

It has come to my attention that Norwegian and Danish days are exactly the same. So really there are 25 distinct day wheels if I'm not mistaken.

It’s interesting that on the Greek wheel they put two English names to help the watchmaker orient it, and marked the Latin one with its language, but did neither for Amharic nor Finnish.
Why do some have three ‘buttons‘ (jewels?) installed near the center, and others just have three holes? |

That Finnish one typifies the fascination of the whole hobby. The designers must have had a nightmare fitting all those letters into the day window.

I did inquire about a Latin day wheel for my DD. They said it is possible to get one and I hope this works.
