Incoming....
Ordered this day one of its release. Did not disappoint. Oysterflex came a tad large, new/shorter OF coming soon. Guess I can scratch up one OF negative; can’t be adjusted like an Oyster. Other than that it’s perfect. The most militaristic Rolex is also quite luxurious while being low key. The perfect t-shirt luxury watch.
Definitely the Rolex lume king. Much larger lume than the Explorer II. Will get a lot of wrist time.

That really is understated luxury!! Love it. Sigh....maybe one day.
I wish there was a bracelet option to go along with flex. How does it wear size wise compared to Explorer 2? I have not seen one yet in person. 42mm is such a great size IMHO. Congratulations! |

Bracelet option for this or the YM40 would look great but personally I needed something different.

Super congratulations on this so rare to see in the wild watch.
I fell in love with it the day it was introduced, perfection with this bezel / oyster flex combination. Have two questions regarding this watch that I hope I can get answers to. Fist the markers with the lume you mentioned they are much larger than the Explorer. Buy this you mean the diameter is bigger, if so, I wish those were fitter to the SD43, it would have matched perfectly the 43mm diameter. Second question is related to the oysterflex, could it be Rolex made it without an adjustable class like the ones used on almost all models now? Quote:

In addition to the lume markers I wish the SD43 had a slightly larger dial with bigger hands and thinner bezel. I guess I’m a big fan of big dials.

When you get the smaller oysterflex put on, please please ensure that you get a top skilled watchmaker to do it. There have been many threads on here about sales associates, and even jr watchmakers at rsc RUINING white gold Daytona’s and 116655’s when doing a routine oysterflex strap change. And it’s not just light scratches on the back of the lugs...it’s literally big chunks taken out of the lugs, because the material is so soft! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Great minds... I ordered this with a 2020 spring break vacation in mind. Perfect island or beach watch. Glad it arrived in time. It wasn’t looking likely as the months passed by.

Yacht-Master 42 & Explorer II lume. Keeping the camera centered and the watches level while in the dark was more difficult than I first expected. They both have awesome lume. In real life the YM42 has a bit more lume and is thus a tad more legible in the dark.
