Alright I gave in

Tired of waiting for the Batgirl I decided you only live once might aswell live your best life.

I’m trading my Explorer II for a Batman on Jubilee.

7500 CAD on top which comes out to about 4700 over retail.

My hopes of getting the watch I want at retail just looks dim.

I think it’ll match well with my LN and my Datejust 41 Roman dial

Over paid? Or right on the money?

Life is short. If you somehow get the call then you can sell it and you’ll make much of it back. If you never get the call then you made the right decision. Win win.

honestly don't see the problem with this if you really wanted it. i paid 3k over retail for a AP RO although luckily the msrp went up by 3k 2 weeks later, but i wouldn't have regretted it anyway

sometimes you just don't want to wait

no point in waiting for certain models when it could take years

agreed
My point exactly; I’ve been on the forum for a while and Toronto is becoming almost like New York with the Rolex market.. you need to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars just to get the opportunity to buy a watch at retail. Might aswell save 250,000 dollars and get it now.

Plus explorer never gets wrist time too similar to my LN

Thanks will post when I have it.

Do you think it’s stupid to have the 116710 and the 126710? I also recently got a Datejust 41 for my birthday jubilee blue Roman fluted.

Am I crazy for the black and blue or what lol

No, I don't think it's stupid, but I would one million times rather trade the 116710 for the new BLNR than the EXP2.

Resulting combo would be the BLNR, EXP2, and DJ. A much more balanced and versatile line up. But hey, that's me.

Time or money? You can enjoy the watch, and YOLO. I take time over money quite frequently. I have gone Gray for several watches and have no regrets. Enjoy your new one!

And if you like GMTs, you should have them. Nothing wrong with having both a 116710 and 126710. I happen to like them, too.

You’re right, life is too short.

Look at it this way, paying $4k over is waasaaay better than spending $100k trying to earn the watch at an AD.

Plus, say you would’ve been on the list for 3 more years.

$4k over 3 years isn’t much.

Why not trade the LN towards it? would need to add less cash and would not end up with 2 GMT2’s

I just got batgirl from one of the reputable seller from the forum. I have waited enough 1 year already and looks like my AD won’t give me watch soon even I spend $100,000 over 6 years. So I l’m really sick of it and just purchased paying 14k. Like OP mentioned it, life is short and I don’t want more stress getting the watch. Never regret paid premium on the watch. Good move OP, you will not regret at all. Watch is beautiful and I get lots of compliments from many people. Enjoy the watch in good health OP.

Ya know, retail pricing is just an arbitrary number provided by Rolex. Overpaid/underpaid vs. retail is meaningless. The only questions are is it worth it TO YOU, and can you afford it? Retail pricing means nothing when the product isn't available at that price. It's all just theoretical. So if YOU think the price is reasonable and you really want it, I say go for it!
