IWC Big Pilot
Hi guys,
What are your thoughts on the Big Pilot? Is it worthwhile getting one? |

Hell yeah! As soon as you do, post pics! Nowadays you can get it at a decent discount (20-30 off), so don't pass that up!

They are HIGHLY regarded among watch lovers. The platinum model with a blue dial is my favorite but I think you'd have to look for one of them used and pay $$$.
Here a WG model for about $25K on the GM. Beware though 46.2MM |

One thousand of the original were made in the 1940s. If they made a replica of the original, I would buy it.
I was told at IWC in Beverly Hills that, until not too long ago, they _did_ make a replica of the original as part of their regular line. Anybody know about that? |

I had one on the other week... Largest piece I own is a 40mm. This dwarfed it. I'm sure I'd get used to it... but I'm not a rapper. I'll stick to a reasonable sized case.

i will heading to the AD tomorrow for a viewing session. The big pilot was on my wishlist way back in 2005. Got sidetracked with other watches over the years till I saw it in a magazine and it got my heart racing again....keep you guys posted...

Very nice one !! But I've recently bought an IWC...so I'm a bit biased !!!
I can't go further than 44 mm anyway. Top Gun sees my wrist very rarely for that reason, 44 mm is already the extreme limit for me. |

I want Lee to put me in his will. I think I deserve that. He always has the most amazing watches. I am waiting for him to get a Lange.
