Are the Deepsea owners here dissappointed that the DSSD is no longer the the best for WR? With the new Montres Charmex CX at 20,000 ft the Deepsea is way behind. I know they're all overkill etc etc but from an engineering point of view they're all pretty cool.

Very disappointed. I don't think I'll be able to wear this POS anymore...

My Bell & Ross Hydromax is rated for 11,200 meters or 36,000 feet (6.8 miles) but I rarely dive that deep :)

completely useless watch.

2200 Euro...you have to ship it back to the factory to have the battery changed and they would keep it for about 5 months......

Nothing personal of course..it's a beautiful watch with a neat design,but this battery thing is been a complete disappointment...did the bubble show up already on yours ???

I seem to remember in the early 90's there was an obsession with watch manufacturers trying to out do each other on depth rating with quartz watches. It seems pointless as the depths are unattainable by humans. I'll accept an addition to the depth ratings to add a saftey margin to the watch tolerance but I think it both ludicrous and pointless to go hundreds of metres beyond this.

Nah...it doesn't bother me a bit seeing as I didn't buy the DS for 'bragging rights' wrt depth rating. A Sub is overkill IMO, so the DS takes overkill to a whole other level. Unless I'm mistaken, it does appear that this is a fully automatic watch (ETA 7750 movement) and NOT oil filled, so yes, it looks like it beats the DS when you're talking deepest 'dry' automatic mechanical watch.

But, I'm not a big fan of the looks of the watch (the colors, dial & bezel seem to be all over the place) and I've never been a fan of Ti watches. We can argue about the mechanical merits of a watch all day long...but in the end we all know that 99% of the reason we buy a watch is because of its looks. I think the DS blows this watch out of the water in the looks dept and that's all I really care about. I've seen plenty of watches that are worth anywhere from 3-50X more than the DS that I wouldn't be caught dead in...they just don't do it for me. Even though this watch isn't in that price range, the looks are and therefore it's not a big draw for me.

P.S. Side note...anyone that knocks a Seamaster needs to have their head examined IMO...there is no denying its amazing merits at a fraction of the price of a Rolex - period.
