Rolex purchase Hongkong - need help from a expert ;-)

Hello,
i am living in Hongkong and I am looking for an Rolex expert who lives in Hong Kong and helps and advises me on a Rolex watch purchase. I have already found a watch, I will make sure that it is real. I appreciate any help. Thank you. Best regards Bastian

I live in HK but not an expert on buying from the greys but did buy one last year and then had it checked at RSC. The grey dealer even came with me to RSC which was a nice gesture. All was good.

Are you allowed to just walk in to the RSC and have them check the piece on the spot?

In SGP, it’s 7 days to get a service estimate and a S$170 fee if you don’t want to go through with it. So I doubt that HK allows walk ins, not with the volume of Rolex resales that happen in HK.

This correct? It was S$107 and 1-2 days just until a year ago...

Yep, from a few weeks ago when I sold my bluesy, the buyer asked if I could get RSC to give a Svc estimate. Lady did say it could be 5 days depending on how busy they were.

Don't waste your money or time visiting SG RSC.

Yes you actually can for authenticity check. However with the current Coronavirus situation, you have to drop the watch off and have them notify you for pickup. 1-2 days wait time.

That's good to know. Do they open up the watch to check authenticity?

Where are you purchasing the watch from? My business partner used to live there for a bit before returning back to Hawaii. I can ask him for you. He's pretty well connected. L=

I live in HK. Heard of basel one before. If it’s full set, check the whole thing (paper, card, etc.). These shops usually also have a case back opener so u can request them to open up the watch.

Sg RSC is a joke! Paid the inspection fee and you do not get any info compared to the kind of services that HK RSC offers for free. RSC HK is a great place to authenticate purchases from resale market at no cost! The inspection is very thorough and staffs are friendly and helpful.

I have bought from Royal Jewellery & Watches Limited before. I was very happy with the deal. They got me a discontinued model that is not super hard to find but was a good price and everything was perfect and new. The owner is a very friendly lady and the business seemed legitimate to me. I did not ask for the case to be opened as I don’t think they are the kind of business to risk their reputation selling dodgy pieces. Also, I have had this model twice before and many other Rolex and everything looks good as far as I can see.
