It is a Rolex crown made before 2010 then Rolex start with the Monoblock crown that only have a insert of steel threads pressed into the crown.
So now it's not just a cap of gold, it is a little more solid.

That's a very sad looking crown. Glad to hear the manufacturing process has shifted to include a more "solid" gold crown now.
