Would it really be too much to ask?

To wake up just one morning to some GOOD news?

This is typically what I do with the addition that I do my best to make positive decisions to make my immediate world a better place for myself, my loved ones, and others.

Good news doesn't sell. It's no longer about informing the public it's about making money and bad news is good entertainment. We only have ourselves to blame.

This. Ratings have soared and networks capitalize on fear.

I’d love some good news too, but I’m afraid we’re in this boat for a while until we have a vaccine, especially if people can’t manage a simple ask like wearing a mask to protect others.

You could not be more correct. I am afraid we as humans are built like that too, the good times and the feelings they elicit never seem to last nearly as long as the bad times. It’s like bad news takes up more space in our heads too than good news.

Oh please don’t bring up that movie CJ... It’s funny because one of the technical advisors was an Officer I knew, Commander “Rat” Willard. If I remember correctly, he was CO of VF-51, Screaming Eagles on CVN 70, Carl Vinson. Great guy and a hell of an f-14 Pilot. (Of course I was a better pilot) Anyway I saw him at a party after the movie and asked why the hell did they get away with all the BS in the movie. He just slowly shook his head.

If anyone has 30 or 40 hours with nothing to do I’d be glad to point out the differences between that movie and the real world of being a Navy Fighter Pilot.

Not to much to ask at all. I’m hopeful, that one day that would be the case.

I won't mention we probably just overpaid our estimated taxes.

Stop watching the news. Humans aren’t meant to get news updates for the entire world everyday. And by news I mean they tell you every horrible thing that happened that day and none of the good. I’m convinced it trains people to be paranoid and to expect bad outcomes.

I haven't watched the news in at least 10+ years ( I'm 33). I read tech news, financial news, Formula 1 news, and occasionally will brush across apple news and the countless corona related articles. By occasionally I mean maybe once a month. It's awesome. I literally have no idea whats going on in the world outside of my little bubble. I see the text threads that all of our friends are on and the absurd paranoia about everything, most of the time I have no idea what they are talking about. I don't get it.

I don't understand why people want to watch these reporters only reporting the bad every singe day. If nothing bad was happening they wouldn't have anything to talk about, too negative for me. When a pandemic is going on, it's the Super Bowl for these reporters. That to me is strange, and I would rather watch/read what interests me.

You’re preaching to the choir brother. I’m 32 and avoid it like the plague. If someone wants my opinion on something current I’ll spend 5 mins on my iPhone and I can form an educated opinion with the data.

I don’t need this garbage raining on my parade day in and day out. I’m trying to enjoy the days that don’t suck while I’m above ground lol

Yes! I think it’s so much easier. If your constantly looking at the negative, it’s hard to be positive.

Maybe that’s why every ad on a news broadcast or channel is for hearing aids, shoe inserts, medications, walk-in bathtubs, Medicare supplements, reverse mortgages, Velcro shoes and power-lift recliner chairs.

probably right Joey. Also should be noted I don’t have A TV package just HBO/SHO Netflix prime etc.

I do check headlines on a handful of outlets daily but I don’t sit home with CNN or Fox running all morning like my mom. She gets so angry about the content but keeps watching everyday because she must stay well informed of the worlds f****ery!
