He was definitely one of the braver fliers to walk the earth (if not braver than at least more notable). Back then the Rolex watch was a standard for its ruggedness and reliability. It still performs the same although it's certainly not worn for that reason alone. It is one of the reasons I love mine, it's consistency over years as opposed to the battery powered ones which always need maintenance. It's great to wear something rock solid on the wrist.

Great guy. I highly recommend to follow him on Twitter. I think his newish wife (20 years) does the posting for him but it surely sounds all Yeager.

Also read the book, Yeager. Well worth it.
