Breguet Marine

I saw a Breguet Marine 5817ST/12/5V8 in person and fell in love. What's everyone's thoughts on it? I love to hear from owners as well on their overall impressions, how much they wear it, etc. Thanks!

I have the black dial - top watch in all respects. I sold my Aquanaut and bought this and in my opinion the Breguet is better and is amazing value on the secondary market. Go for it - you won’t regret buying the Marine, super comfortable in all circumstances and looks stunning.

Excellent luxury sports steel watch in my opinion... you will be admiring the case back with the gold rotor for as many hours as the guilloched dial side

The gold rotor is a work of art.

Do you have a pix?

I owned the gold version and loved it. I eventually flipped it to fund another purchase but I would definitely own one again either gold or stainless steel. Breguet is an outstanding brand and this reference is a classic.

These are all out of production. There is a new generation Marine line sold now.

The vast majority of watches do not hold their value when bought new. That's even true for many Rolex (precious metals, ladies, and non-sports models).

Delray seems to have a good selection.

Bought one for my wife, and was able to source a white rubber Breguet strap for it as well. The watch is beautiful!
Ironically, she gets all the "nice watch" compliments whenever we visit jewelry stores or watch ADs while wearing the Marine, and this with me wearing a Breguet Tradition, AP ROC, VC Overseas, Aquanaut, etc.

On my list, but I'll probably never buy one. Great looking watch. I don't care for the looks of the newest version, though.
