Pics of my first Rolexes

Here are pics of my new babies . . . Almost twins since I bought the DJ 3 weeks ago and the GMT last Wednesday.

After buying the DJ, I joined this forum and I have you all to thank for my new addiction, and my newfound knowledge about all things Rolex. Thank you!

And please excuse the quality of the pictures. They really don't do the watches justice . . .

I love that dial on your DateJust. Is the watch SS? or TT (white gold)?

It's SS. I know the dial looks like it deserves to be on a gold watch, but that would have been out of our price range.

Was that dial original to the watch? I ask that because I'm considering getting a diamond dial for my SS Datejust, but am afraid Rolex won't touch it since it isn't orginal to the SS model.

Yes, it's original. I bought it at the Encore Rolex store.

I even found it on the 2008 price list here: (It's ref# 116234)

Just a warning if you're getting a mother of pearl dial: Make sure you see the actual dial first. There is a lot of variation in the mother of pearl dials from one example of the watch to another. Some are a little pinkish and some are more grey. You might order a dial because you saw it on one watch, but not like it when you receive yours.

Then congrats to you, too! My DJ was my first and I will always love it. For all of my life the DJ to me was "THE" Rolex. Until I came to these forums and learned about GMTs and Subs . . .

Thank you everyone for your nice comments. I'm a member of several other forums on other topics but this is the first one I actually have felt like I wanted to participate as opposed to just lurking and posting very occasionally.

A nice, fun, and interesting group of people here, and of course a great topic!!
