Rolex 5513, Crystals
May someone tell me when which crystals were installed in the 5513, where can I find literature on this. (e.g. Domed, Super-Domed, Flat.) Sorry for my stupid question, as a newbie. Thanks!

I have a particular interest in the 5513. It was quite a long run ref and arguably the result of a lot of trial and error through the 50s and was the first of the classic sub refs.
It started with the super dome in the early 60s I believe it was the milsub which was the first to switch to the standard dome in the early 70s, followed by another 10 years of classic sub dev before they started messing around with seadweller movements in new line of subs with red text before finally settling on the 16800 which became the first ref of the rest up until today. That ref in the early 80s got the flat sapphire Crystal |

I might be wrong but after researches and talks, there is for me - as 5513 crystal - only the t19, the normal version (rounded edges) and the service one (straight edges)...superdome never came factory...people just put the t39 from SD...

Correct...T-19 is the correct Crystal for the Submariner 5513.
I elected to have LAWW install a modified Rolex OEM T-39 Superdome on my 1978 MK1 and am very happy with the result. Adjustments.jpg IMG_1414.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
