37 years old NOS watch

Hello fellow members
I just found this Datejust 16030 from 1983 with full box and papers and tags
The watch is in NOS condition and I don’t think there are plenty of these left in this condition.
if you got it would you ever wear it? Or keep as it is?
All comments are appreciated
Thanks you.

I don’t see this as anything like NOS?

I would pass as I have seen others in better condition.

Have to agree how anyone could say thats NOS defeats me, it's just like the thousands of others of the same age around today.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. The definition of NOS is bought a while ago and never used. This watch looks incredibly used. Just look at the bracelet stretch alone.

Far from NOS.

Wow, tough crowd! That’s a beautiful DJ and a great full set. It’s not NOS, of course, and it’s overpriced, but it’s very difficult to find in this condition and as a full set.

It’s not a rare reference, but there aren’t many out there that are super clean like this and with a fat case, matching tritium patina, original date wheel with open 6s/9s, all the bits and pieces of a very full set (minus the DJ manual), etc... Always better to overpay for a watch in this condition than save money on a run-of-the-mill example.

I love the old silver DJs. Quintessential vintage Rolex.

4 16030 boxed sets between $4,800w/best offer, up to $7,400 sitting on eBay right now which is 15% too high just because of fees. This deal just doesn’t make sense. I love vintage DJs, but there’s a ton of them, his 116200 is a much better watch. Then to add cash on top of an already lopsided deal in the dealers favor? Pure greed

You’d need to analyze the condition and compare, but my guess is that you’d have trouble finding an eBay watch as nice as the OP’s example and with virtually every item from new in the set, down to the case and box stickers.

As I said, it’s overpriced in the current market, but what will that market look like in five years? This might seem like a very good deal then. More importantly, it’s just a really nice vintage watch.

37 years old NOS watch

It is actually a NOS watch but full of finger prints and a scratch or two due to Rolex’s wooden base box

What does the seller ask?
Of course wear it, if you buy it! Or would you put it another 37 years in a box...

Cheers

Woah, that’s steep, your 116200 should be worth at least $5500...

I’m gonna go on a limb here, but I am not certain the lugs are really untouched.

For me I think it’s too much, even though the watch itself looks good. I’ll send some picture of my 16014 from 16014, that I got NOS , too for comparison.

Cheers
Torsten

as long as you trust the seller for authenticity, looks ok, definitely been worn though, maybe even touched up.

The watch is 37 years it was definitely worn on wrists some times, but never used, and also in factory condition as I have checked with rcs never polished or touched up in anyway .

It is definitely cool but it isn’t a particularly collectible model. As soon as you wear it, it will just be another old ss Dj unfortunately.

NOS? Scratches on clasp and the bracelet is very stretched. Not sure it’s NOS at all

All old jubilee bracelets had some m stretch from the factory especially early ones like this one. The scratches are on the clasp only due to the wood box that Rolex used with out any cloth to protect the watch.

The bracelet is very stretched? I am not seeing that at all.

It appears to be a very nice, vintage Datejust, although it does not appear to be "new in the box" based on the photos.

How is that very stretched? Looks to be quite tight.

Not nos, but doesn’t matter. Wear it and love it, it looks great. It’s a datejust, one of a whole bunch.

Edit: just saw ask price. Find a better one tomorrow for cheaper.

You seem to like it then get it.

It’s certainly been worn a little.

This watch is not NOS at all and far from mint condition. It has been worn and repolished. The seller is a liar. Get away from this watch. And the deal is not great at all!
