1675 GMT Fuchsia
Dear fellow GMT Fuchsia enthusiasts,
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger at a GMT Fuchsia, although prices are already very inflated. I've found the following example of a good looking 1675, which is claimed to come from the first owner and to never been polished: - 19xx series - Mark I dial with long E - COSC certificate from 1969 (no Rolex papers) - 7206 bracelet with 80 endlinks with 3-69 code - Nice Fuchsia coloring at the insert Although I've done a lot of research, I'd appreciate some feedback on the following questions: - Would a COSC certificate be considered as watch with "papers"? What other papers came with a GMT in the late 60is? - Are dial, bezel, insert and bracelet completely period correct? - Any other red flags the watch raises? Many thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Overall correct, but get better pictures all round & make sure to get some of the accessories.
Condition items I see, and they may be from the picture quality, are that the dial appears to be discolored/splotchy. You need a uniform tone... Despite the price that insert is fetching, the dial is very important to the value. My biggest issue is with the case which has been polished, 75% of it is fine but the lower right quadrant is too much. That lug is actually shaved shorter and, to be picky, the crown guard is misshapen. Some rounding on all lugholes as well. Its a very imperfect science but probably a 1.9m is 1968. The date wheel has been replaced. Although I wouldn't worry any of this. I bring it up here because we're nerds. Overall if you can get by the bottom right lug this is a good example of a 50+ year old watch. |

Thanks for sharing your view. What brings you to the conclusion that the dial is discoloured and the has been date wheel replaced? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You should have closed 6s on your datewheel. This is a very minor point -not salient... |

Hello Edhahn44,
In response to your questions, you'll find my comments in bold face: - Would a COSC certificate be considered as watch with "papers"? What other papers came with a GMT in the late 60is? Warranty paper or warranty booklet and chronometer certificate from Rolex and sometimes you'll find the COSC certificate and the one sheet owner's manual. - Are dial, bezel, insert and bracelet completely period correct? I don't see any issues there. - Any other red flags the watch raises? 7206 bracelets on GMTs normally had 58 end links but I have seen them with 80 end links on what I believe were original watches. Your date wheel is a later service wheel which doesn't really mean too much and is not a deal breaker for most collectors. Below is a set from late 1968. 2.04 million serial number.
