26331ST on Rubber Strap

Earlier this year I picked up a RO chrono and asked the AD if I could also get an AP rubber strap for the watch.

It’s probably not common to do this given APs amazing finish on their bracelets but I had the AD swap out the bracelet and install the rubber strap. Overall the watch is lighter and looks more sporty in my opinion. So for now I will keep it like this.

Not sure if someone posted something similar before but I couldn’t find anything under search. So thought I would share and help provide some reference photos if anyone else is considering doing the same :)

Nicely done.

There have been a couple of models released exclusively on rubber and they look great, so even AP agree with you that the bracelet isn't 'everything'.

I love the sporty aspect of the rubber, it changes the dynamic entirely.

Looks great. While the bracelet is iconic, I think a well-designed luxury sports watch should have the ability to live on an integrated bracelet, leather or rubber straps for the sake of versatility of look and activities.

I got the black strap. As far as colors, if I remember correctly, they have black, blue, and white. But you also have to buy the AP deployant buckle.

looks killer. Have you considered buying the tools to do this switch yourself, so you can switch between bracelet and rubber on your own whenever you want? Or too risky?

I actually didn't look into this, if its easy I don't see why not. But I would hate to scratch the watch

I am about two hours from the nearest AD so I do this myself with my older 25960/26022 and all I need is a screwdriver to remove four individual screws in the case. There typically is loctite on the tips of the screws so some heat may be needed, especially with a very new watch. But ad long as the screwdriver is properly sized it shouldn’t be a problem.

The screws holding the plots to the strap are a little more tricky because they require one stationary screwdriver and then another to unscrew the end cap from the long screw.
